Orion provided a reasonable price range for the roofing job and explained what the job would include. They dropped off a packet of information along with product samples for us to choose from. My Home Owners Association had rules I needed to follow for my roof and Orion explained clearly what would and wouldn't work with the HOA standards. They helped me chose the right materials I needed and even helped with the HOA request. They were also flexible with material costs telling me what substitutes I could switch out to save money. They told me exactly what I was paying for and some of the standard materials they offered were actually sold as premium items from the other roofing companies. They don't believe in cutting corners and that really showed in their work and the materials they provided. They even trimmed some of my tree branches for free since the branches were touching my roof and that would ruin my shingles in the future. Orion runs specials every now and then. For the month of April we got a year of free pest control paid for! They also have a lifetime warranty on their work which is the best warranty of all the roofing companies in Houston. They filed a separate warranty with the shingle company for free to so the shingles themselves are covered for 40 years. Overall, Orion was very professional, flexible, and transparent. I was referred to Duran Roofing by a coworker who used them years ago for a similar issue. I…read morecalled on a Tuesday in regards to a window/roof leak and the receptionist stated that she would check with the guys and get back with me. I called back the next day as it wasn't originally made clear that it may take a while as she does not know the contractors schedule. I stated okay that is fine and she stated that she would get back with me. So I gave it a week and called the following Thursday to check to see if she was able to speak with the contractors. She cut me off and stated that she had left a voice message; however, I did not have a voicemail or even a missed call so I provided my number again. She stated that he had some availability in about a hour if I would be home. I said great and the guy showed up within the hour. He examined my window and stated that he would have to come back Friday or Saturday with a ladder to check out my roof. I stated great I will be home all day on both days. He stated the office would give me a call to set it up. I provided him with my number to make sure that they had the correct number on file. I never heard anything else and didn't even bother following up because of the poor customer service. If my house was too far, job too small or they were too busy I would rather be told that than ignored. Glad I was able to find another company that was able to repair my roof leak and sheetrock removal/replacement.

After inspecting on the roof, he reported that I had a couple of shingles that seemed to have been crushed on the edges, but were still in place, functional and not allowing any leaks. There was no charge for this service, and Stephen didn't try to up sell anything. All he asked is that if we ever need any roof work done to consider Duran's...which we will.
