NO THANKS, Not for such a BIG and IMPORTANT and TRUSTWORTHY challenge..
I was getting married between Christmas and New Year 2016. When searching the market for a wedding cake I noticed that Whoopie had good recommendations on several pages and I contacted Julie.
She accepted the request and we met with her in her shop to make a decision.
After that was done, we agreed to pick up the cake on Dec 27 after 2 pm (the day before my wedding).
Payment on 1,500 DKK was made immediately (which later on seemed as the only thing that worked fine with Whoopie, acceptance of money!!).
Due to many pieces in the puzzle the day before a big day I am not ready to pick up the cake until 4.30. Unfortunately the shop is already closed. Apparently Whoopie has chosen in the Christmas season to limit the opening hours, which we were not aware of when making the order. At that time it stated it was open until 6 pm.
But on the door it was stated that they were to open next morning at 10, so I had my cousin to pick it up on my behalf.
I started to call Whoopie from 9 am and left several messages on the voice mail, including that she should contact me, she already had my contact details. Though no response.
When my cousin was in front of her shop at around 10.30 it was still closed. She also tried to contact her several times and leaving many messages.
So in the 13th hour I decide to not let this ruin my big day and I am asking my cousin to leave, which is around 10.50.
The owner is talking a lot of her service. I have however not met this at any time. I trust a service minded owner would do their best to get in contact with us.
I am ending up having a great day, though strange to cut a pastry bar with my wife when expecting something much bigger.
By a far out coincidence, we are being informed at 6.30 pm if we still want to have the cake!! I can inform most people have already left at that time.
When checking my phone and mail I can see that Whoopie has tried to contact me around 3.30 pm that they still have the cake.
No apologies for not replying on text messages, not even a small apology for not reacting on the fact they have a wedding cake in their fridge with a marked 28.12.2016 date on it.
I know the owner of Whoopie was not in the her own shop on the 27th. How in fact that an employee is not reacting that they have a cake that has not yet been picked up is a big mystery to me.
If she has offered any compensation, you may ask. Yes, a discount on our baptism cake!!
Guess what, she can wrap that into the wedding cake, which I trust is already in the garbage.
I can for obvious reasons NOT recommend that Whoopie is being used for such a BIG and IMPORTANT and TRUSTWORTHY challenge that it is supposed to be. read more
