Scott seems to be a kind and compassionate man, and I had high hopes for my treatment at Wholistic. I had to find a new PT since mine of many years no longer took my insurance, and since she was a manual PT and did some myofascial release work, I thought Scott's practice would be a good fit. My first visit was pleasant and reassuring; in the evaluation I explained that I had fibromyalgia and had undergone cervical spine surgery and was very reactive, so caution was needed. On my second visit, Scott spent a lot of time on my neck. Apparently he did something to a cervical disc (two other PTs have since explained to me how this happened). By the time I got home I was in severe pain that only got worse over the next several days. I saw my internist who immediately knew I had a pinched nerve and sent me for an MRI that confirmed a bulging disc and nerve compression. Eight weeks on (and after a ruined, agonizing trip to Europe), I am waiting for a cortisone injection and hoping desperately to avoid surgery. The office called me a while back to see why I hadn't returned and I explained. I haven't received any followup call or apology -- it seems fear of lawsuits rules. I don't even know what to say as a warning; I'm sure the damage was unintentional, but it's done, and it's probably permanent. Just -- be careful, I guess. read more

I have been seriously in pain with my sciatic for at least 6 months . This wholistic physical therapy was very new to me . I can not say it enough that this different way of PT helped me so much . I can walk on the treadmill , bike and all exercise and stretches without struggling. Also, very happy to say I am on the mend and I have 1more treatment left. I am a 71 year old male who was a college athlete and has a broken body to prove it! I have had a life long back problem and recently injured it badly, playing baseball with my grandkids! I have gone to chiropractors and orthopedic doctors and never really felt like the problem was solved! Whenever I have treatment I always feel like it's helpful and healing, some sessions are even more so. Today was one of those. Earlier this week, when I went out to my garden, I discovered a sparrow had gotten entangled in the net we put over the cherry tomatoes (to keep the birds from taking a bite out of every one). The poor bird was exhausted and terrified of me. As I tried to help free it, it's struggling just entangled it more. Finally I was able to gently hold it, and work the mesh free. As I was working, the bird relaxed, I was able to get the net off, and then off it went. But first it had to "let go" of the struggle against the net. Kind of like me today. I pictured that little brown bird struggling in my hand, and was able to "let go" of the struggle against the pain. I trusted you, to take the net off. And I felt a huge release and opening. Myofascial Release is the main modality practiced here. If you are looking for something resembling mainstream massage therapy or physical therapy, you will not find it here.. Myofascial Release, as practiced here, is more than a little esoteric and involved more than a few very unexpected psychotherapy-esque moments. At one point in the session a suggestion was made the gist of which was "why are you so committed to holding on to the story of your pain" : | Just going on out on a limb here, but I don't think the average person in chronic pain, and thus chronic fear of worsening pain, is really helped by this line of inquiry , which to my way of thinking is uncomfortably close to "it's your fault, and it's all in your head anyway." Also, as if all of that wasn't enough to make me regret spending money for this nonsense, there was a SHAMELESS and completely unexpected sales pitch towards the end for Juice Plus. Juice Plus is sold through a Multilevel Marketing company.. If you haven't heard of Juice Plus a quick google will reveal how terrific it is.. will Juice Plus hurt you ? nope. Will it save your life and cure your arthritis (like it did for OJ Simpson)? Nope. Will you feel completely snookered if you buy it from this guy.. yep, you probably eventually will. They also tried to get me to buy an overpriced semi hard plastic 3" or so diameter ball to lay on.. I'm sure that could be some value to using a ball in this way for self massage - it's not so different a concept from a foam roller, etc.. but when you're already spent A LOT on a one on one session, and you know that said plastic ball probably cost them 50 cents or so from a wholesaler on ebay or in china, it feels really shitty to be told to buy it for an additional 10 dollars. especially right after receiving the unexpected pseudo-pschotherapy and the juice plus sales pitch. Maybe there is something to the philosophy and practice of Myofascial Release - i'm a possibilitarian, and am not writing off the practice as a whole - but unfortunately all the other icky things about my experience at Wholistic Physical Therapy described above occluded any faith I could have had in the practitioner and process here. Yuck. This will probably get taken down somehow, but hopefully one or two people can benefit before it does.. read more

A friend recommended Wholistic to me. From the welcome greeting to the tranquil setting and professional, compassionate and knowledgeable Therapists I was in the right place. Last October 2017 I received a flu shot in my left arm and had a bad reaction. With the help of Kamal I was able to finally move my arm without pain and sleep. This September 2018 when I found myself with terrible pain in my right hand and arm I knew exactly the place to go. With Kamal's help I was able to move my arm, perform tasks I hadn't been able to and get a better understanding of where my pain was stemming from. After a session you feel more relaxed. You are presented with easy at home exercises to help you get back to where you can function a normal life. The therapists take the time to listen. You are not given a sheet of equipment to work on and go off by yourself. You have one-on-one full attention of your therapist. Wholistic Physical Therapy is the best! I had been living with chronic neck and shoulder pain for over 20 years. I went through a myriad of other treatments from pain management to chiropractors. In a matter of 8 weeks Scott was able to not only control my pain but completely heal it.
