On August 12, 2022 I purchased a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder St-L 5DR Wagon with Constantly Variable Transmission, 3.5 Multi-point injected Unleaded, for $30,000.
Shortly after the purchase, I noticed white smoke emanating from the exhaust pipe. Initially, it was a small amount, occurring a few times a week, but over time, the frequency and intensity of the smoke increased in the following weeks. After a few months, the car began releasing smoke daily, even while driving.
I sought help from various mechanics, who conducted checks, services, oil changes, and diagnostics, but unfortunately, none could resolve the issue. The last mechanic I consulted informed me that the problem with the car is beyond repair and that the only viable solution is to replace the engine, requiring a substantial amount of money. Additionally, the mechanic warned that many other cars from the same dealer were facing the same situation and advised staying away from Wholesale House.
According to the mechanic, the engine is bound to break down at some point, leaving me with no recourse. Since the white smoke issue started, the car's condition has been deteriorating daily, and now, the smoke level is so high that I am unable to park the car in my garage without contaminating the property for hours.
The white smoke is consistently released when the car starts and during driving.
I found that the cover included with the car was inadequate, offering no assistance in resolving this significant issue. I feel deceived and frustrated, having wasted a considerable amount of money and time on this purchase.
My advice to others would be to stay away from Wholesale House, as they appear to be selling junk cars to unsuspecting buyers.
Given the severity of this situation, I have been engaging with the Motor Trade Association (MTA), the Office of Fair Trading, and seeking legal advice to pursue a resolution. Unfortunately, this has led to further wasted time and money.
In conclusion, I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience with Wholesale House and hope I can resolve the situation.
