A wedding venue ? For the ceremony it cannot be critiscised it was conducted in a
caring and professionnal manner and was enjoyed by all.
The 'function side' however leaves a lot to be desired.
being as this is a working tea room it is not available until this has closed and the
room prepared should you be having a barbecue or hog roast etc. I cant speak for the outcome should you be having a sit down meal but if the organising of our event was
anything to go by , service was sloppy food ran out several times , no one was keeping an eye on it so many people did not get the whole selection and thats just the food side of it.
Drinks , well probably good if you are teetotal but if several people drink one spirit ,beware , they only had one bottle of each !!!!! It was that bad that we went and got our own only to be told that we couldn't pay corkage but would have to sell it to them and 'buy' it back .
All beer was bottled ( whoever heard of a bar with no beer on tap , its not as though it was in the middle of a field or something!) . So bad that even they had to go to the 'shop' for some vodka !!!!!
So all in all a disgrace causing untold stress to the bride , groom and family.
You should be ashamed..
Also as a lst point, there is s toilet on that floor that is for both men and women and
I appreciate that the sink etc is old and in keeping but that shouldnt include the filth
around the taps and in the sink , that is neglegent cleaning !
The ' drink ' situation was discussed beforehand and assurances were made that
'they had done this before you know ' , well not very well and in need of improvement
on both the serving side and customer service .
The pull this place out of the doldrums is going to take a lot more effort than is forthcoming at present and unless you are prepared for this do not book here , you
will be disappointed .
One disgusted mother of the groom.
