In addition to the animals, there is a small play area with motorised tractors and trucks and a sandpit for the kids. Admission is £2 per person for over 3s, under 3s are free. Bags of food for the animals can be bought at the gate for 50p each. Frequent visitors can buy a season ticket for £12 in advance or £14 on the gate which is a bargain considering this is somewhere kids are happy to visit again and again. The farm is surrounded by a huge country park and a wander further down Castle Lane will take you to Hadleigh Castle which is also worth a look.

Thriller: The Michael Jackson Story was here a while ago, and blew me away, (even though I felt only the young kid was the only one to pay a true tribute to the undisputed King Of Pop). Sometimes they do have the sound a little too loud for the venue, but this is only on the more rock/metal style live performances, such as Thriller, and other such shows. If you do have a balcony seat though, beware of the steep overhang, and the low hand-rails, as a 6'2" Epileptic, I could easily fall over these, (I've had further drops though, heh), and I feel that as far as safety is concerned, (not just for me, but also for others, such as blind people such as my Mother), that these hand-rails should be raised more. In short, a great place to go for a reasonably priced show, but don't get a balcony seat if you've had a few to drink, lol.

However, sometimes musical productions form London will tour and they often have a short run of a week or two at the Cliffs. I have been lucky enough to see the touring production of Fame and also The Woman in Black (which was terrifying!) here. The prices are also much less expensive than going to the West End and the theatre is smaller and more intimate - you definitely get a better view of the stage. The sweets are just as pricy though!

I took a trip to Canterbury with a small group of friends recently and we decided to do quite a bit…read moreof the tourist program. One of the obvious stops is a river boat tour! Such a cheesy cliché, had to be done! We picked a random time slot and were led down a few small foot paths to the moorings where we met our captain, who's name I'm unfortunately struggling to recall, and took our seats in the boat. During the ride up and down the river Stour, our guide told many stories about the history of the area and the buildings along the river. We had to duck under some bridges and tuck into corners to let other boats pass, though it was of course our captain doing all of the actual work. He also had a lot of tidbits and anecdotes to entertain us and was quite funny.   As cheesy and touristy as this activity was, I actually enjoyed it.
