You will not find this in a the big chain chemists and pharmacies. I suppose it is the element of care that makes it what it is. It is a good little pharmacy stocking everything you need, I even once bought a last minute Christmas present from here. I think the recipient liked her luminous hair bobbles, who wouldn't? They were cheap too which was a bonus when the Christmas cash was tight. If you are ever in need of entertainment I would recommend getting in line for a prescription but if you ever need deodorant I would advise you to make the 20 minute journey to Boots.

I reluctantly chose a different brand of facial wipe to what I usually buy, as there really wasn't much of a selection, took it to the counter, was met with a sort of smile, paid for the wipes and went on my way. No unlucky conversations on this particular day, but I figured that the weather must have had an adverse effect on the staff for the lady who served me was a tad gloomy. And that was that. Nothing exceptional, but nothing atrocious. Liked the lovely fluorescent orange labels on everything though. They sure made certain I knew those facial wipes were £1.99.

They are not one of the larger Boots stores (despite being big by Barrow's standards) so they don't carry all the ranges of makeup e.g. Urban Decay, but they do have a good selection of all the usual high-street brands, Max Factor, Maybelline, Bourjois etc. They also carry the Soap and Glory bath and body range, which is gorgeous! They have a dedicated No. 7 counter, staffed by lovely ladies - there are 2 specific ones I can think of who are always so friendly and helpful, they have a laugh and a joke with you when you go to pay, and are very knowledgeable about the products on offer. They make shopping there a pleasure! Boots also does regular promotions and events, and their Advantage reward card is one of the best around - well worth getting one, you collect points on everything you buy and it adds up to enough for a lovely treat at the end of the year! Their 3 for the price of 2 gift sets make great Christmas pressies too.
