It is a reasonable size so the stock is as expected for a medium sized shop. However, I can't help but feel this particular shop is a little tired looking. It always feels a bit like the poor man's Boots to me. There are plenty of similar stores in Dumfries and I don't think this one competes.

The staff are still the same and as friendly as ever. They are very helpful and happen to listen and advise. If it is something a bit more medical they will get the pharmacist who is always happy to help and I even had butterfly stitches put on my knee here after falling over when i was younger so I didn't have to go to hospital. You can expect to pay the same price for the brands but i like their own brand stuff as it does the same job and is much cheaper. I get their own paracetamol suspension for my daughter when she's teething and you get double the amount than the branded one for a pound cheaper.

This one seems to be different though, having a wide range of health and beauty products arranged within what I consider to be a larger than average store (for it's type and ruling out the likes of Boots). The staff are polite, considerate and helpful, seemingly having a good rapport with their more regular clients. Yet even with me, an irregular visitor they seem to have an easy way about them that puts you at your ease if you're seeking advice or simply pleasant enough to briefly pass the time of day with as you make your purchase. The store itself is clean, and well presented with lots of open space which seems to be such a rare commodity in small shops these days as the owners attempt to squeeze every penny out of every square inch.
