Vineyard Community Center is an amazing hub to get plugged into!…read more The community center offers everything from a food pantry, free health clinic, a free store for parents of babies up to age 2, connection to all kinds of community resources; even adult and youth programming around sports, community, education, and wellness. They throw a block party in the summer, host health fairs, back to school activities, and even have a program that is centered around sustainability and caring for the earth. Theres a day program for adults with disabilities called AIM- and boy does that group know how to have fun! What I love most about the community center is that everyone is very welcoming and staff and participants are always willing to help you find what you need or assist in getting you signed up for a program. It's a great place to participate, meet people, learn, and play at any age or stage in life.

There is also a small pie wedge type shape that sits in the corner of the concrete base it stands in. The piece was designed by Shawn Phillip Morin. It is one of the smaller locations, but has a small parking lot and is bright and sunny. Not long ago, it was fully renovated which is great. The library staff and volunteers are friendly. I stopped in to pick prizes for the Summer Reading Challenge and everyone was helpful and kind. With this location being where it is, sometimes you may find unhoused people or some people with mental health issues. I'm not throwing any shade, just making people aware.

Wifi was fast and it was not too crowded so rooms were available to reserve. You can reserve a room via the tablets placed throughout the library and you need a library card to do this. The library is three-floors with plenty of seating space on bar stools, chairs, and tables (also plenty of plug outlets). The morning was quiet but more people started to come towards later in the afternoon after school got out. Staff was really friendly and helpful, and I appreciated them having free masks. One thing to note is that I noticed a handful of homeless folks hanging around in front of the library, inside, and using the bathroom. Not dangerous or anything, but just something to keep in mind.

The leaders are great and we learn many new songs and motions to songs. It's a great learning tool for the children. There are several play areas where the kids can play with toys, digital pads, Melissa and Doug puzzles, Lakeshore and more. There is a section of board games that one can borrow. It's great as they have many newer games to choose from. I love that I can horror a game for up-to 2 weeks. It's a great way to test a game out to see if we like it or not. There are nice family restrooms with changing tables and a large area to bring a stroller if needed.

Opened since 2018, it remains very clean and well-kept…read more It has two floors, with most of the children's books and activities on the first level, and adult books and study spaces on the second level. This helps separate the noise originating in the child area from those looking for more of a quieter space upstairs. It has 11 different independent study rooms that can be reserved, with most intended for 2-4 people. They can be reserved ahead of time online, or in person on a tablet on the second floor near the restrooms. There is also a very large quiet study room with windows for plenty of natural light. There is a cafe on the main level for coffee and snacks. Parking is also a breeze, with a very large lot out front. All in all, this is one of my favorite branches in the Columbus Metropolitan Library system.

It's on the Franklin County fairgrounds. Gates are open; follow your GPS. It's a small collection of historical buildings, giving the flavor of a village. Reproduction covered bridge, the rest are relocated: church, school, voting trailer, etc. All well maintained. Nothing open, on a weekday, and I can't find info for when it is. Maybe during the fair? A nice addition to local history. Wish it were more well known (I'm a history buff and just heard about it last year; somehow missed it during fair visits.) A few benches and tables, so it would be a nice place for lunch. Cool old railroad station. A little garage with old cars. An old tombstone. I'll be back someday.

The buildings in the park have either been saved and brought from another location or, like the cabin, pieces of wood and stone were used from elsewhere but locally. On the premises is a log cabin, a church, a one-room schoolhouse, a depot and caboose, a covered bridge, a gazebo, and a museum. There's nothing that says when the museum is open. However, on their Web site it says to call 614 876 4376 to arrange tours. When I get a chance to tour it, I will give an update.
