We held a birthday party for my father and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff were so accommodating and helpful.

This was the perfect reception venue for us. The owners went above and beyond to help us and it was so nice to be able to show up and have everything ready. We added pictures to the tables and brought in the food and didn't have to worry about the rest. Cleanup was so easy, which was wonderful after a long day because other than the kitchen we didn't have to do anything. The venue is beautiful. When it looked like it might rain, the owners contacted us and asked if we wanted to move some of the outdoor seating inside and were able to advise us on which tables would be covered that could still be outside. They had everything ready to go by the time we got there so when it started to rain I knew it would be ok because they had already prepared for it. read more

The venue size and layout were perfect for our event, but it was filthy! Every surface was covered in dust, we had to wipe them off as we were placing pictures on them. The carpet in the brides room looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. We also assumed the yard would've been cut before an event, but there were tall weeds everywhere. The male host on site was also very curt and not pleasant to work with at all! We didn't let it ruin the evening, but I don't think expecting a place to be clean is asking too much. read more

If you are considering a location for ANY special event, come here. We chose White Willow for our daughter's wedding reception and it was perfect. It's beautiful and evokes a wonderful sense of charm and history. Much of the building's original design and detail has been lovingly restored and it's created a beautiful venue. And the attention to detail is amazing. Dave and Laurel (the owners) are fantastic to work with. Unlike some places that gig you for extra fees (if you want a table, or chairs, or the lights turned on) , White Willow offers access and use of everything they have. White Willow would make an excellent choice for not only receptions, but corporate events, training workshops, executive planning meetings - whatever. read more

Laurel, unfortunately, doesn't own and manage this anymore. The venue is beautiful and it is great in the sense that it has all the decorations and has so much charm. However, the new owners are a couple and his parents. The older parents (I suspect were the ones who funded this venture) are absolutely sweet but I think it is the younger couple who manage it. The younger couple have other jobs and are not as attentive to this one. The son is a thug and the wife isn't much nicer. He and his wife have horrible management skills. Beware, they won't accept a credit card without an added 3% fee. There is an added charge for tablecloths (you can purchase your own for much less on-line). In their brochure, they state that the tablecloths are $12/ea but they put a table cloth on everything and sometimes layer them. The top tablecloth is usually a fancier one with an upcharge--which was never mentioned. Also, there are some caterers who provide tablecloths for free with their catering. Find out about that before finalizing details. When we had our appointment for our final walk-through, they emailed me a couple of days in advance and said they were unable to do it at our appointed time and they would need to reschedule. They offered to do it an hour before our originally scheduled walk through. We agreed. It turned out that they weren't able to do it at our originally scheduled time because they got a last minute booking and it overlapped a little. Thats fine, we adjusted our schedule and came an hour early. Everything was very rushed. We had little time to make decisions about table decor, linens, sound system equipment, etc. When she was done, she said we would receive a proposal in a couple of days with the final bill and the details. We never received one. I was attending to other wedding details and forgot until the final week before the wedding when I was going around paying everyone. I messaged the son for the final bill and noticed I was charged $297 for tablecloths. (I only had about 10 tables). I also informed him I wouldn't need the tablecloths for the buffet table since they would be provided by the caterer. He replied that it was too late because they had already been ordered. I said, "Okay, fine, I will pay your bill but please tell your future customers about your linen charge structure ahead of time and please send the bill out when you say you will so your future customers may catch the details ahead of time or before you order your tablecloths." Had I known this ahead of time, I might have made different decisions about my arrangement of tables or bought my own tablecloths. The son did refund $105 back and I decided I needed to just let it go. The night of the event, the son and his wife never came out to greet me or see if we needed any help setting up or to see if we needed anything for the night. For example, we were told that they had easels we could use. Couldn't find any. We were told they had a microphone and there was no microphone anywhere. When I knocked on the little area where they were sitting for the night, they acted irritated every time I asked a question. (We needed the lights dimmed and the wife was very annoyed at having to get up to show me where the light switches were.) She stamped around and acted angry and super passive aggressive. I needed help finding a place to put favors and couldn't find her to get the help I needed ahead of time. The final straw came at the end of the night when we did the sparkler send off. There was a little accident where some sparklers were lit and dropped on the concrete. There was a little charred place on the concrete where they fell. The son went ballistic (not an exaggeration) and started demanding my credit card. I went and got my husband. When I came back, the son was insulting our guests and saying things like, "You have to be smarter than a sparkler!" etc. My husband offered to clean it off and asked for a brush but the son wouldn't give it to him (even though he was standing there holding it). It had been such a fun night despite the challenging experience we had dealing with the managers/owners. It was too bad that it ended on such a sour note. And even in front of guests. Honestly, if I had to do it again, I would probably book somewhere else with more professional managers. Sadly, because it is so beautiful. But not worth the aggravation and lack of professionalism. read more

First off, ditto what everyone else said: - absolutely charming & classy - owners are friendly & accommodating - AFFORDABLE!! As for me... Oh my goodness... I am 100% satisfied. I would recommend ANYONE to go here! They were SO detail oriented, and they offer packages that save money because they bundle floral, wedding planning, decorations, sound system and everything else. The event hostess (Laurel) was wonderful and helpful the entire day and several weeks prior. Ceremony was beautiful, and the decor was breathtaking. read more

My wife and I just had our reception here last weekend and it couldn't have been better! These people made our reception experience 1000 times less stressful. Everything looked perfect when we showed up. Many people were there and there was more than enough space for mingling, eating, and dancing. If you don't want to worry about setting up, taking down, all the other tedious things in between, and still have a beautiful venue that is affordable then this is the place for you! read more

I held my daughter's wedding reception here and it was beyond wonderful for these reasons: 1. I got more than I paid for, 2. Chris did exactly what we agreed to, 3. It was a turnkey event (this was important to me since I'm from out of town), 4. My guests loved the venue AND RAVED ABOUT THE FOOD. We planned for 300 guests and had oodles of food all around with tables indoors & out. Chris's staff were superb being both friendly & attentive. They removed several tables for dancing later in the evening. No cleanup for us! They provided big screen TV on which we played a slide show, a birdcage for gift letters, beautiful decorations in our chosen colors, centerpieces, etc. The building was comfortably air conditioned. Had my wedding ceremony and reception here in December 2010. The staff was WONDERFUL in every aspect of the planning. From what to eat, to the cake, flowers, and decorations it was taken care of. It really allowed me to be at ease on my wedding day and enjoy it. I especially loved the beautiful decor of the large christmas tree and the pretty poinsettas that were EVERYWHERE. White Willow Reception Center did my reception and I loved it. Every thing was run so smoothly and the food and flowers were fabulous. They paid attention to every detail and I am a very picky bride. They did more than I expected for the fresh flowers on the eating tables and my parents couldn't believe how affordable it was. I am watching the first dance video of my daughter's wedding on December 22 and could not be more pleased with how lovely White Willow looked, totally complimenting this beautiful couple. It was an evening event and the glow of the chandeliers spread elegance over everything. When the young people started to party I was pleased to see the older couples unite with old acquaintances in the quieter front parlor where they stayed visiting even after the couple left. We came from out of town and did our own refreshments. We had reserved White Willow from 10 AM to 10 PM and I am so glad we did. I did what Laurel describes as a "drop and dash" first thing at 10 and Laurel was all set and ready for our invasion. We returned from the grocery store at noon and the work began. Laurel was there every step of the way and she had a beautiful person, McKenna, as her assistant. I was right in the middle of melting chocolate when the bridesmaids came in and said "Time for first look!!!" I couldn't stop what I was doing but McKenna stepped right in and had everything under control when I came back. I wanted some of the food containers elevated but had to leave for the ceremony and when I returned Laurel had them set up perfectly. I loved that I was able to go up to the bride's room and change into my reception dress. White Willow is only minutes from where we had our ceremony. One of my grandchildren clogged the restroom with too much toilet paper and Laurel's husband, David, had it fixed in no time and did not appear perturbed by the inconvenience. He handled the music and our announcements and did an awesome job. Also, the restrooms are very nice. They moved tables where ever we needed them and provided extension cords and anything else we needed. I used everything in their well stocked kitchen. Everyone was saying how relaxed and organized everything was and were so impressed by how nice everything looked. Of course, my daughter was my focal point all evening, but now that I have a chance to look at the pictures, I agree with what everyone was saying. I just had my wedding at the White Willow. I have been in the catering business for many years so maybe my bar was too high but I was pretty disappointed. I read other reviews and noticed that most brides only had their reception there. I had my ceremony and sit down dinner for seventy. The day before we came to drop off all our things for the set up. No one was there and we had to wait about forty five minutes. I was also price quoted incorrectly and was not told until then. So I had to sacrifice the honeymoon to make up the cost. Right before the ceremony we were supposed to do a rehearsal. It was very difficult to find the people running the reception and it was raining right before the ceremony, not their fault. But my mom was the one who had to wipe down all the chairs and adjust the outdoor flowers. We did not get a chance to rehearse the outdoor ceremony so we had to wing that. I found out a few days later there were a lot of needless fights because no one knew what was going on, and being in this industry myself that should have never happened. A big part of paying for on site service is to have them direct everything and jeep everyone calm. I know I have had to do this for caterings up to 4000 people before. There was also no mics or sound system so most people could not hear our vows. When the ceremony was over we once again could not find anyone so I had all my guests seated then found out the food wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. The food itself was great and the girls running the food were darling!!! Absolutely no issues there. We kind of had to do everything ourselves as far as running the toasts went. And my aunts were the ones who had to do the break down after the wedding. I forgot the sparklers and they gave me some which was very nice, and the girl running it was friendly. But overall it was just too disorganized. read more
