I think just about everybody feels that way and when you can find a mechanic that you trust they're worth their weight in gold. I needed to get my car e-checked so I could renew my registration and since the engine light came on, I absolutely had to have it serviced prior to getting the E check done. So yelp recommended Lakewood Firestone tire pros and I decided to accept that recommendation. I dropped my car off and unfortunately due to a power outage. They were unable to get to it but that's just life in Lake with these days. They called me the next morning with a quote and had the card done by the end of the day. It was reasonable and about what I expected to pay and I was grateful that they got it done so quickly cause to be honest I waited a little too long to get my E check done and I was under the gun. I think I found my new mechanic in Lakewood.

She was the definition of the working poor. She trusted GT Brothers. Fast forward 30+ years and I took my car to Brian Toth, the owner of the place (he's been there 45 years himself!) on the recommendation of good friends. They told me stories of Brian's customer service, not something you always associate with an auto mechanic. They believed he was fair and honest. I couldn't agree more. I thought my car needed brakes. Brian called me and said I didn't, that I had a good 10-15k miles left on them. He rotated the tires and gave it an oil change. Less than 24 hours later I had my car back with the knowledge this is my new go-to for car repair. And Brian? He remembered my mom, actually pulled her first name out of thin air. Damn. She passed 5 years ago. That's amazing. They don't make places like this anymore.
