My child has been attending WTMAC for 3 years now. No complaints at all. My child has disabilities and normally attends outside therapies as well. Due to her attendance in classes she no longer needs outside therapies to help with her muscle weakness. read more

We've been sending our 3 kids (11, 8, 6 year olds) to White Tiger since January 2022 and we have loved it! The Master works really well with kids. You can tell that he knows how to instruct them well. Our 6 year old didn't even want to do Tae Kwon Do and we just kind of pushed her a little. She loves it now and is a dark blue belt. It is not common when you see people really passionate about what they do. I've just started taking classes there and I'm very impressed with how friendly, encouraging, and passionate the instructors are. Also, the schedule really allows me to be flexible with when to come. There are plenty of classes in the morning and in the evening to accommodate my schedule. I only wish I lived a little closer, so I can take more classes. read more

This is more of a quantity than quality. There's so many students but very few instructor. Your kids will end up playing instead of learning. The Grandmaster does have favoritism. If your child is not his favorite, too bad you will be left out just learning a little instead of getting the full potential. White Tiger is a beautiful facility with very large rooms that have high quality floor pads. They recently added a Krav Maga program to their schedule and the instruction is nothing short of phenomenal. Krav is the fighting system taught to the Israeli military. It incorporates punching, kicking, elbows, knees, ground work as well as weapon defense. Gheorghe breaks down each technique in great detail and makes sure the classes are challenging both physically and mentally with stress drills. They even incorporate flipping tractor tires, hitting tires with sledge hammers and kettlebell work into the warm ups. If you are looking for a place to train that has fantastic instruction, an awesome facility and fun and intense classes, you have to make it out to Wheeling for a trial class. Terrible! My child enrolled in this school and after a few months she had a accident which prevented her from continuing the class. We notified them that she could no longer attend and sent them medical records because they wanted proof. We sent them the records and they still reported us to the credit companies as delinquent, We called several times and got zero satisfaction. BEWARE! J.A. read more

This is the biggest rip off in the history of mankind. The school operates based on a six months contract, meaning you're locked into a fixed monthly payment regardless how many classes you take. That's good if you can take a lot of them but if you miss some or want to cancel or get a refund due to special circumstances, forget about it. For example, both of my kids have been with this school for about six years now. Both are black belt. There are no classes geared towards their level or age so they're not being challenged. When we complained about it the office manager says we're locked into the contract so we're stuck. When I asked to talk with the owner of the company, I had to make four separate requests prior to getting a phone call. The last strew was this past Monday when both me and another student who take evening classes got a call two hours before the class letting us know it's cancelled since the instructor is sick. Then yesterday, when we asked the instructor how he's feeling he said he was never sick but was diverted to a class in Wheeling. Basically, add an insult to an injury. Decent Instructor, but terrible business. Recent bad business decisions on contractual & third party billing will eventually cause the White Tiger to go the way of the Dinosaur. They have been invoicing me $100/mo for 5 months now, without ever attending a class. I guess I should have checked my credit card statement more closely, but I would have at least expected a call or any type of notification informing me of a class start. Buyer be aware that any payment obligates you for recurring monthly payments in the future, regardless of your attendance, desire to attend, or knowledge of class schedule &/or commitment. C.S. is non existent here. The students welfare here is clearly secondary to your payments. read more

If you are the type of person who wishes you were in shape but just don't have the gumption to get there alone-check out WTMAC in Wheeling. I've been in many different fitness programs over the years and this is the ONLY one I have ever found myself looking forward to even when I'm tired and the weather is awful - I always leave class glad that I went. The various classes are run with modified routines on a daily basis - so not only do they hold your interest and keep your brain active, but they also prevent you from hitting that boring-gym-workout plateau. WTMAC has such a range of classes (offered days, nights, and weekends) and students (young & old, fit & out-of-shape-but-with-a-goal, male & female, novice & advanced) that no matter what day you come in it is guaranteed you will enjoy good company and get in a REALLY good workout. I take Krav Maga, KO Bag, and Weapons Defense and have tried a few of the others out of curiosity-all are worthwhile learning experiences. The friendly teachers are very knowledgeable, personable, accomplished, patient, fun, fit, and down-to-earth people; they understand the importance of truly educating the students rather than just running a class as other gyms often do. They take the time to get to know you, assist you at your level to accomplish your fitness goals, keep you safe, and you'll often see them taking the classes as well, practicing what they teach in good form. The exciting routines, sociable classmates, encouraging teachers, and fantastic office staff create a welcoming WTMAC family atmosphere which will keep you returning for a great workout and leaving in an excellent mood! read more

master george is the best instructor for krav maga. he knows everything there is to know about krav, as well as mixed martial arts, grappling, and stand-up fighting. (i seen him kick a coke can off a person's head by doing a flying spin kick!) there is no better instructor i believe in the area. students are driving many miles to take his class including me. he makes sure everyone gets the technique down before going ahead with the instruction. the class sizes are great. krav maga may be an intimidating form of self defense but master george and the his proteges make it a great environment to learn, become informed, and more importantly have fun. there are classes during the day and evening to accomodate everybody's schedules. there are no egos at this gym so everyone can learn from each other. check out their website for more information. ill i have to do is get to class. read more

I've been going there since I was 12 and can say that the instruction does not getter better then this! 8 year olds have enrolled and can dish a out a good beating if you stole their Oreos! ;-)This place is a big part of my life now and I don't see myself leaving it anytime soon! read more

I've been taking both of my toddlers to WTMAC for three months now, came threw no issues tell my kids were ready for belt testing. They charged me $100.00 for testing that I knew nothing about. Hana is the person that works in the office. That at the time I did a one year contract with them, she did not tell me of any extra charge for belt testing. I went to talk to her and she wouldn't apologize for any misunderstanding. I told her if I would have known about the belt testing fees being so expensive prior to me signing a one year contract than maybe I would have done a six month contract. So I couldn't down grade my contract but I could upgrade my contract. Thats there rule. They are so stupid because it's like going to school and having to pay for testing. Which makes no sense to pay for testing. And why is it Soooo expensive for belt testing? The kids only get a new belt and a cirtificate. On testing day it was Soooo unorganized. We didn't know what was going on that day of testing. I know I will not renew my contract once it ends. read more

It was once great school. I may not like it how it all ended but I can not complain for instructors or classes. The school operating system is anything but... "customer is always right" rules. It is rather based on greed than making customers happy. My husband hurt his knee 2 months prior his contract expired. He was not using fascility for a month, hoping he gets better. It never happened, so we made a written request for courtasy exception to annul his contract which it was only one month left. I heard a long speach about the rules and necessity of bringing doctor's note (which we could not provide at the time)We were also exchanging emails for more than two weeks which took us nowhere, because they either did not address the issue we had, they offered no solution or they kept telling to come on over... for what? Simply the emails from them were trying to prove it we have no right to ask for any favors and they were lacking understanding or empathy. My husband tore his ACL in the class, instructor and students were his witnesses. We were both customers of this school for almost 4 years. Thinking that after all this time they would rather charge someone who can not attend the classes anymore becouse that one month fee is more important to them than honor and the reputation is just making me sick. On top of that we were both charged a monthly fee on 15th of the month when Master Lee already knew the school will not be operating in the end of the month. The school is not having payment system through the third party so all the rules are by the owner Master Lee and his judgment. It's simply his good will as in our case not so good. Shame on you. p.s. Word of advise: It is very easy to loose the customer, hard to get a new one. Also good word and refferal from a happy customer may work miracles for your business but... I guess we all have to learn on our mistakes ;) As one of the instructor used to say: It does not matter how you start, it matters how you finish. Unfortunatelly I do remember "all the finish". The owner, who himself teaches, and almost all of the instructors are good--patient and kind with the students. I would feel comfortable leaving my child with 99% of the instructors at White Tiger as I have only seen 1 instructor exhibit a tendency to be physically punitive with my child. White Tiger has a good reputation in general. They offer a lot of classes and I think the class schedule is set up well. I liked the classes--my kid got a lot of cardiovascular exercise and found it fun. Unfortunately, I felt I had to stop sending my child. My experience here was poor because of 1 of the instructor's punitive measures in trying to educate my son in tae kwon do. I have not seen this 1 instructor do anything physically punitive to any other child. He was just behaving in an unacceptable way towards my child. After complaining to the owner about the negative experience our family has had with that 1 instructor, I was told that that particular instructor has been talked to about his behavior and has been told not to use physical discipline/punishment anymore. read more

Negative experience with sending my son here. I only had a problem with 1 teacher at this place. I would feel completely comfortable sending my son to classes with the owner and 99% of the teachers at White Tiger Wheeling--they are kind, patient, and were not physically punitive with my child. However, that 1 teacher would lose his patience on occasion and become physically punitive with my child if he was slow learning the tae kwon do material. That is why I left and no longer send my child here after one particular incident where the instructor punished him to the extent where my son was sobbing in pain. I ONLY saw that 1 instructor do anything physically punitive with my child--there are about 20-30 kids in class with my child and my child was the only one getting this kind of bad treatment. After I complained about this to the owner, I was told that this particular instructor was told to stop using physically punitive methods for teaching tae kwon do to students. This is a huge karate place so there is lots of room for kids to run around and really exercise. Not a storefront karate place. My kid got a good cardiovascular workout. read more
