This is barely a mall. There are only a few stores and the ones we visited were small. The most popular feature was an axe throwing shop.

My family went to the mall today to walk around and have pizza. My mom has had two kids, and when she's gotta go, she's gotta go, so she parked near the door so she could get to the car to get home if she needed to. we all had pizza at the second rate pizza place there, and then we walked clear across the mall to leave cause mom had to pee, and guess what?? the door we came through was LOCKED. It took TWENTY MINUTES to walk to the door, find out it was locked, walk all the way across the mall to the other door to get out, and then walk ALL THE WAY back the OTHER WAY to get to the car. Not a single employee to be found anywhere, no notices posted anywhere about locking the doors extra early, nothing. The food here sucks, and the stores are all taking their dying breaths in a failing economy. SO, if you've never been to this mall, let me sum it up for you. it's like walking down a plain, barren hallway that's been halfway cleaned with locked restrooms and exits with food poisoning lurking around every corner. for the only mall in Alamogordo, you'd figure they would try way harder to make it nicer. Don't spend your money in this overpriced overrated backwoods hillbilly hallway. read more

We call this the food hall because there is only food restaurants here. There is a nail salon, air conditioning, and sometimes there are cats for adoption in the center of the mall. Pros: Pizza 9, Mad Coffee. Right next to a Ross and Marshals. Cons: Bealls, Jcpenny and the jewelry store closed permanently. read more

Wow, so sad after reading the reviews. People, this is a small town, not a big city. Love the patriotic feel of this mall and the small community friendliness. Everyone says hello, people are really kind. If you want more shops and entities in this mall, then make sure to support this mall, financially!!! read more

Poor mall....has a couple of stores and a few cafes. Great air conditioning so if you need a cool place to get some walking in this could be a good option. It sure isn't crowded. read more

The mall management is very disappointing and very rude. The one with short hair is always trying to get in other people's business. The stores connected to it are terrible places to work, with terrible cooperate. The mall here just cares about money, but they won't use any of it to do any remodelling or make it appealing to customers. The most people I see come in and out are the elderly walking every morning. Theres not much in the mall that's worth it personally, but the book store. The kitchens of the Chinese food places are absolutely disgusting and not clean at all. The janitors tried to help us out one time (giving us a description of someone who stole from our store) and the mall management had the nerve to scold them and accuse one of them for trying to flirt with us. For simply helping our store that is PART of the MALL. It's dissapointing really. Do better. read more

Positives: The only mall in town. AC works good. Fairly clean. Anchor stores are JCPenny, Kmart and Bealls. Also, the VA clinic is now based here. Juan's Cactus Cafe has good fast food Mexican, and it's refreshingly authentic. The local library's used bookstore is here and is an oasis in an otherwise barren shopping experience. Oh, and don't miss the "Shroud of Turin" museum which is very, er, unique... Negatives: Small and poorly lit with a dark brown color scheme. Many storefronts are closed, and they don't usually put up a facade. This allows one to see the remnants of what was, which is kind of interesting but gives the mall a gloomy postapocalyptic feel. When its slow and I walk around here I half expect to see zombies pop up. Since the JCPenny management debacle, the store has very few goods and basically no sales or coupons. Businesses come and go very fast with shops being highly inspired but poorly conceived. Overall, not much has changed since I first saw this place in '81. read more

I stop by Burke's Outlet, Bealls, and JCPenney every time I go to Alamogordo to see family. I didn't used to like Burke's..I thought it was a bunch of "cheap" products in one place..but I've become pretty fond of it. I've found some really great stuff the last few times I went, including this most recent time (a pair of $60 boots for $15). Bealls always has a nice selection of clothes. JCPenney is always having great sales and have different stuff from the JCPenneys where I live. There's a joke between locals about this mall being a "hall". It's because it's so small and theres not a huge selection of good stores. But Burke's, JCPenney's, and Beall's are worth checking out :) read more

Worst so called Mall EVER Don't ever let your child work there because the manager of the mall sends her janitor out to harass female employees on where to park in the parking lot when there are ZERO places that are marked for where employees park or customers park for that matter, they are trying to have employees park in JC Pennys parking spots. My child will park up front where the actual parking lot lights work not in the back where they don't work at all. Mall Janitors should never harass a teenage female employee that is way wrong and he should be ashamed of himself. I want people to know that when the mall manager or janitors get into an altercation they choose to have the person who stood up to them told they can't go to the mall I am LMAO about this mainly because there is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING I would buy from this mall, and when you can't go to the mall that means the main mall because Melrose, Ross, Hobby Lobby, JCPennys, Sally's etc are NOT owned by the White Sands Mall. They need to renovate the walls, floors and bathrooms in this place. So much potential but so dirty old and run down looking it's sad. No store can be proud to be a shop in this mall. No one I've talked to has ever even ventured inside of it because the appearance is so bad. Such a sad excuse for a mall. And super cheap crappy "Food Hall" sign hangs from the side of the building which just brings so much more of a trashy look to this place for no reason. They atleast attempt to make it kid friendly and have some neat trash can art inside. It's really depressing inside. read more

This mall is often referred to as the "Hall" because it is quite small. The one highlight of this mall is that they do have a Footlocker which is vital for anyone that needs to get shoes (like me; for Running) but doesn't want to drive to Las Cruces or El Paso. Oh and of course, JC Penny's! Other than that, there's not much to look forward too and like previously mentioned it is dimly lit so bring a flashlight! read more

Alright, let's be honest, there are only a couple of stores opened in the mall now. JC Penny, Bealls, Juan's cactus cafe, Smileys Chinese buffet, Chinex, Zales, Spaghetti Western, and my all time favorite, TROPICAL SNO!!!! Plus there's a GNC and a hair salon. But, it's not THAT bad. I always come by to get a beef taco dinner from Juan's and some phenomenal cotton candy from tropical sno... and occasionally some Hawaiian shaved ice from there too! Alamogordo is an older town, but there's always good food at the mall, or at least there is in my opinion! Also, the girls that work at Zales are SUPER nice! Don't try to redeem the free cotton candy offer at Tropical Sno. The couple days they don't know anything about it and they are t the kindest. Pretty disappointed because I had a heartbroken 6 year old. read more

Best thing about the "Hall" is its so K o o L in the summertime w/a central water fountain like a babbling brook- its great place to do walks- shaped like a dumbell as its anchored at both ends by Pennys and K-mart with Bealls in the center- All have good prices often besting WalMart when there are sales When we came here in 1991 20yrs ago, it was THE place to shop, but that was when WalMart was a small town size with limited supplies (out by overpass) As soon as the super store WalMart showed up in late 90s, the "Hall" began to loose shops, esp. when small theater was closed to open up our larger one. Still, you can get some best buys in food at Chinex Chinese and Jaun's Mexican fast food plates (way better than Taco Bell). Nail salon still does a good job read more

As the other reviewers mentioned.. this place is teeny. It really is a hall! It's a small town, so I suppose it's adequate for the population. Their anchor stores are K-Mart, Beall's, and JCPenney. There is probably roughly 10 stores total. There are shoe stores such as Footlocker and Payless, there's a Burke's Outlet, Hallmark, etc. It's definitely not the kind of mall you come to hang out at, but it does the job when you need something and don't feel like driving to Cruces or El Paso. read more

The mall is very small. It has JCPenney, Bealls, Burkes Outlet, Sears, Kmart, and a military recruiting center. Those are the most notable places. 4 restraunts, 2 of which are chinese. I do LOVE Juan's Cactus Cafe. Other than that, the mall is a pretty slow, calm atmosphere. They could decorate it a little more. I heard the owner charges very high rent so that's why there's not many stores. Most people jokingly call it the "hall". If you want to do a big shopping trip, this is not the best pick, I'd rather go to Mesilla Valley in Las Cruces or a mall in El Paso. Although I grew up with this mall. The movie theater used to be in it, and back then it was always busy in the mall, but over the years after the movies left the mall slowly started getting slow. I say put a Chick-fil-A in there!!! ;P I do enjoy kmart and Burkes a lot though, and Bealls also has very good quality clothes. read more
