I, of course, freaked out (in peace, though... appeared as if nothing), and silently, went outside, to the parking lot and did what I never thought I would do in public. Cried like somebody I loved had died and bawled my eyes out, alone. All in all, my maid of honor gets there, sees me bawling my eyes out and goes inside, I guess she did what didn't even occur to me, which was to explain to Joyce, that it was my wedding day (I guess I thought she already knew, since I had told her when I scheduled the appointment). Joyce Soler came out, apologized and offered to accommodate me. The rest of the day went out smoothly and each of her employees, stylists, what have you, were very supportive of me, funny, and made my experience there an enjoyable one. The manicure was done haphazardly, with no attention to detail, so my sister ended up with nail polish all over the edge of her fingers. The lady (who was the owner!) said "don't worry, that will come off in the shower). Then she proceeded to apply an air spray to the wet nails, which created a bubbly texture of the enamel. Pedicure: her version of a pedicure was a portable feet massager; there wasn't a dedicated pedicure area. Her toe nail treatment was the same as the fingernails, sloppy at best. She handled our feet roughly, to the point where my mom now has a bruise on her foot. And I had to help mom clean her toes from all the nail polish she smothered. Then she proceeded to do my sister's eyebrows. She was told specifically to only clean them out, since thin eyebrows do not look well on my sister. When she was done, my sister had paper thin eyebrows and super short hair on them. HORRIBLE!! She said she will fix them with makeup, which she did, but then my sister (who takes pride in her natural looks) looked way too made-up. Finally, for the hair, she did a decent job on my mother, (I ended up not having my hair done with her, she would've ruined it), but she took WAY too long on my sister, delaying the event for almost an hour, and making her miss the opportunity of sunset pictures. She didn't even finish her hair; so instead of braids, my sister got twists, which by the end of the event were already undone. Jennie is so talented in what she does, & really can make suggestions as to what suits you. Makeup - Yajaira (sp?) was very sweet and gave me a smokey eye. Just tell them what you want and they will do it. If you say you want a lot of makeup, they will give you a lot. So just be specific! I did hope it was airbrush makeup, but since being on a small island - resources are low. You can bring in any makeup you want to use or use what they have there. I would have done the makeup myself and saved a lot of money, but I did look pretty and she was very sweet. If you are not good at applying makeup, then come get yours done. Otherwise save a lot of money. If I come to Rincon again, I would definitely come back to get my hair done if needed!
