My husband had bought me a massage and facial package for my birthday. I believe it was some type of special with a fruit mask and healing flower massage.
I had looked at the website and assumed with the pricing, it would be very similar to a traditional, relaxing spa.
I was briefly greeted by (?) and brought directly to the facial room. As I am sure you know, with multiple services, you receive a robe and a locker when you arrive to make the most out of your day of treatment. She simply asked me to hang up my purse and lay on the table fully clothed. I understand some Spanish, but I have no idea of what she was doing to my face. I get facials and massages frequently, but was rather confused by her technique. I'm not sure if I had a mask or exfoliating scrub or ?? The extractions were done with no light covering on the eyes and basically felt like I was being stabbed in the face. When she was done, she told me to go up front and have a nice day. I think she was unaware of my following massage.
Upon realization, I was given a robe and a locker. I changed, laid town on the massage table traditionally under the first sheet and waited. She came back in to inform me that I only needed to be covered by a normal size bath towel. Confused and cold, I adhered. With the air conditioning blowing and the lotions on my back, I was literally shivering. I was shocked when she said she was finished after only massaging the back side. I have never receive a massage where you don't focus on both sides of the body.
The absolute worst part of my experience was that she was visible ill during the course of my two treatments. She must have sneezed at least 10 times, always returning to work on my body right after. Her sniffling over my face and throughout my treatments were gross. During the massage it was so bad, I was tempted to end the session early because I felt so uncomfortable, it was the only thing I could focus on, the calming music was quieter than her cold!
I know different spas have their own techniques, Natural Green is beautifully decorated with calm lighting, but the spa experience was quite the opposite. I'm not sure if the services were different than usual because I received a special? I would have paid the extra 20 to 40 dollars to have had a better experience. (or a healthy technician)
The gentleman at the desk was very polite and gave me the e-mail address, as I did not want to embarrass the employee (?) at the spa. She was only 5 feet away sitting on the sofa with her cell phone. I haven't heard anything back from the spa, but I would highly recommend spending your money somewhere else. The nearby resorts spa are price competitive and carry a full spa experience. read more
