I was visiting my in-laws and need to take a trip to the clinic. I need some answers and a chest…read moreX-ray. Long story short I had the flu in February but my cough lingered for over a month. I'm not sure if was a combination of the cold air and wood burning fire place that made my cough worse but I was having issues breathing. I had seen 2 other physicians in Las Vegas prior to heading into the clinic and my medications were not helping. I was able to schedule a appointment which was nice. The paper work was complicated for me and I was provided a mask (since I was coughing). The staff up front was very friendly and everything seemed very clean. The doctor that saw me was amazing. Maybe because we were in a small town she actually had time to listen to me. I forgot her name but she was a beautiful African American woman. She made me feel very comfortable and was able to prescribe me with a medication that helped me almost immediately. She also sent me for a chest X-ray. Do to covid-19 (which was ruled out in my case) I was asked to walk around the hospital to get my X-ray. The ladies at the X-ray area were friendly but seemed like they were interested. No big deal it was slow, I get it. However, they younger brown haired girl that took my X-rays was actually very nice and she made me feel comfortable. She let me know that I should have my results in about 30 mins which I did. Over all I was very happy with my experience here. Would defiantly recommend the clinic. Thank you to the staff for helping me out that day.

Went in to the ER for extreme swelling on the left side of my body, that has been off and on for…read moredays, and I do have MAJOR health issues. I had terrible abdominal pain on the left side (which is when i decided I needed to go in). Dr. Christiansen did a white blood cell count, said it was fine, then discharged me without any type of help. I mentioned I have a brain tumor, which was my main concern when it came to the swelling. He waved it off and made me leave. This is the second time Christiansen has refused to help me in the ER. Two years ago, I had extreme chest pain and my cardiologist from U of U told me to go in immediately. Christiansen stated I'm too young for heart issues and attempted to discharge me, although my records state the issues I have. I forced him to call my U of U cardiologist, which made him perform an EKG. This showed two different types of abnormalities. He claimed my EKG was "perfect", not realizing I saw the results and the abnormalities in bold letters. I had to go through U of U to get pain relief for my chest, as Christiansen stated I was drug seeking. I have had great service in the ER in the past, as well as the clinic, but if you are a young woman, do not go if Christiansen is working the ER. He is biased and does not care about you. You will not get treatment or any type of help. Both times, the nurses were amazing, they understood my concerns and showed compassion. Christiansen should have retired years ago, before he stopped caring about the wellness and safety of patients. I give the nurses and office staff 5 stars, but this doctor deserves 0.

I worked at this clinic for 4 months as a family nurse practitioner and I can say this is the worst…read moreplace I have ever worked and most unprofessional. The human resource department is nonexistent with questions in regards to signing documents that are invasive. Also during a work meeting with staff present a rumor was brought up in regards to having an affair with a coworker, completely untrue and very unprofessional on the part of the council leading the meeting. I was harrassed over not seeing patients with covid symptoms in the clinic repeatedly. I followed CDC and IHS guidelines in regards to this pandemic and was still continuously harrassed to practice unsafely by the current chairwoman. 3 months into working I was given documents to sign that involved me not being protected by HIPAA and volunteering my personal health information. During the time of being there I never called in sick until I was given a reprimand letter full of lies that physically made me nauseous. Also was given a document to sign that did not recognize Covid-10 testing or seeing patients face to face as hazardous during this pandemic when most clinics were using telemed. I was accused in a reprimand letter of not seeing patients after 3pm and not wanting to see patients, which were all lies. The clinic stated to the recruiter that they had a medical assistant /med tech working at the clinic to assist me before I arrived, only to find out the assistant had neither certification and was not trained to perform as an assistant which jeopardized me working as a healthcare professional and safe patient care. I asked why she wasn't trained and the assistant stated she asked multiple times, but they will not send her to be certified. This assistant had been giving patient injections incorrectly for who knows how long because it was deemed ok by superiors. During this time I tried my best to train her properly and discussed the issue with the current chairwoman and supervisor. The supervisor tried very hard to work with me in regards to making the clinic better, but too many times had his back to a wall with management. I helped the supervising pharmacist come up with a plan for covid testing and still possess the documents, but was still informed I did not and needed to help him. My perfomance review was 100% positive by the immediate supervisor, but still was accused by council of rumors and lies. I asked the current chairwoman to discuss documents with supervisor present to understand better why I was signing, which she rejected and told me to meet before the council that all signed an untrue reprimand letter. There is not one person on council that I am aware of that has a clinical background and I am not a shoshone tribal member that should have to go before native council, but a nurse practitioner. I also was told by the community after being terminated that 2 female providers before me were fired and the 2 women providers were not treated very well.. The chairwoman sent me a letter via the supervisor that I was terminated and to pay back a $5,000 bonus. The amount of money I lost trying to do what was right coming to the shoshone tribe in Ely cost me much much more than that. There are people in positions of healthcare with no credentials and no physician overseeing the clinic in a director's position, which is not healthy for any clinic. I really hope this clinic gets it together for the good of the shoshone people. This clinic has cost me alot financially, emotionally and physically due to extreme unprofessionalism and poor leadership.
