I was visiting my in-laws and need to take a trip to the clinic. I need some answers and a chest X-ray. Long story short I had the flu in February but my cough lingered for over a month. I'm not sure if was a combination of the cold air and wood burning fire place that made my cough worse but I was having issues breathing. I had seen 2 other physicians in Las Vegas prior to heading into the clinic and my medications were not helping. I was able to schedule a appointment which was nice. The paper work was complicated for me and I was provided a mask (since I was coughing). The staff up front was very friendly and everything seemed very clean. The doctor that saw me was amazing. Maybe because we were in a small town she actually had time to listen to me. I forgot her name but she was a beautiful African American woman. She made me feel very comfortable and was able to prescribe me with a medication that helped me almost immediately. She also sent me for a chest X-ray. Do to covid-19 (which was ruled out in my case) I was asked to walk around the hospital to get my X-ray. The ladies at the X-ray area were friendly but seemed like they were interested. No big deal it was slow, I get it. However, they younger brown haired girl that took my X-rays was actually very nice and she made me feel comfortable. She let me know that I should have my results in about 30 mins which I did. Over all I was very happy with my experience here. Would defiantly recommend the clinic. Went in to the ER for extreme swelling on the left side of my body, that has been off and on for days, and I do have MAJOR health issues. I had terrible abdominal pain on the left side (which is when i decided I needed to go in). Dr. Christiansen did a white blood cell count, said it was fine, then discharged me without any type of help. I mentioned I have a brain tumor, which was my main concern when it came to the swelling. He waved it off and made me leave. This is the second time Christiansen has refused to help me in the ER. Two years ago, I had extreme chest pain and my cardiologist from U of U told me to go in immediately. Christiansen stated I'm too young for heart issues and attempted to discharge me, although my records state the issues I have. I forced him to call my U of U cardiologist, which made him perform an EKG. This showed two different types of abnormalities. He claimed my EKG was "perfect", not realizing I saw the results and the abnormalities in bold letters. I had to go through U of U to get pain relief for my chest, as Christiansen stated I was drug seeking. I have had great service in the ER in the past, as well as the clinic, but if you are a young woman, do not go if Christiansen is working the ER. He is biased and does not care about you. You will not get treatment or any type of help. Both times, the nurses were amazing, they understood my concerns and showed compassion. Christiansen should have retired years ago, before he stopped caring about the wellness and safety of patients. I give the nurses and office staff 5 stars, but this doctor deserves 0. read more

This is a regional hospital so Ely is fortunate to have the large and well equipped facility for this small town. Appointment and check-in staff is on the ball. The lab is truly state of the art and super fast. My docs over the years have been really good and run their patients on time, with appropriate follow-up. No issues with the range of doctor provided services. But the billing process is still a mess, despite supposed commitment of the Hospital Administrator. read more

I was charged $2700 after insurance for seven stitches in my hand since it was billed as "surgery." I would sooner die in a ditch than ever use this place again. Be sure to ask for an itemized bill because you cannot trust this "not-for-profit" clinic to operate honestly or reliably. A friend received a burn and was referred by someone in the building to the wound clinic the next day. After taking off early from work, they found out that they had not been scheduled and could not get an appointment until five days later. They had to travel over four hours to get more attentive care. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I was sent to this hospital following a Domestic Violence attack. Not only were they extremely hostile toward me the victim but the ER doctor also told me I deserved to be beat. He later went on to tell me that "Your life isnt worth my time" as he left my room. As if I had not been throught enough being told your attacker is right is just downright disgusting. Left in a room alone for another 2 hours with out ever being checked on. I literally searched the hallways for someone and found no one. Not even a janitor before I walked out. This place is a joke. read more

Well, they saved my life, so I can't be too negative. I had to be brought in by a friend for what I thought was severe back pain from a fall a week or so before (but had been throwing up too). I was admitted to the emergency ward as "critical" for severe kidney infection and sepsis (blood poisoning). Apparently I had somehow contracted a U.T.I. which progressed to my kidneys which were non-functioning at this point, and thence to my blood. They put me on two IV's, 3 different antibiotics, and a bunch of other stuff. Didn't address my lower back and left hip pain, other than to do a CT scan which apparently found no fractures, though they did make oxycodon and phenobarbitol available upon request. Place is a joke. Their billing services SUCK! They ask for insurance and then don't even bill them. They send my 2 year to the ER because they refused to see her in the after hour clinic... and then bill me for it. Customer service is far and few between... nobody ever knows what's going on. Give different phone number and pass the buck to the next guy who can figure it out. If I could they wouldn't even be getting 1 star! read more

Received call from personal Dr. saying blood sugar over 600 go to the er. We went to the er, sat back there 3 hrs and they tested my blood 2 times. Finally the dr came in you can go home now "but contact your personal" dr asap. read more

Went in for a routine check up. Was dehydrated from having a few drinks the night before. I was sent to the ER in a wheelchair for a hangover despite assuring Dr. Baker that I was fine. A wheelchair...the ER...for a hangover. Even the employees in the ER said under their breath "I'd send this bill to Dr. Baker". Now there is a $2000 bill on my credit report. Avoid this place unless you've been in a tractor accident. Or, especially if you've been in a tractor accident. read more

$2,500 for an IV. Price gouging at it's finest. It would have been cheaper to take a cab 270 miles to Las Vegas, get a steak dinner, take a few days leave without pay from work, and take a limo back... and I'd still have money left to play Megabucks over at Hotel Nevada. I will NEVER allow my family to set foot in this hospital again. I called the billing supervisor Maryann about this ripoff and, here's a surprise, she said "you can fill out a complaint card" aka "I don't care about you, your family, or your finances. This place is just about as good as medieval medicine. I came here with extreme stomach pains over a year ago. Seriously bad. They told me to change my diet not to mention two other doctors here told me that I had irritable bowl syndrome. I went to Utah and ended up getting my Gall Bladder taken out. Not to mention a hand full of stones to go with it? The billing department doesn't even send you a bill, they just send you straight to collections. Today I took my son to get his weekly allergy shot and sat and watched people go in and out and in and out while we waited and waited. We even watched local tweekers walk right in with no money, no appointment, nothing and get to talk to the doctor while we waited. I really didn't want to write this review because it's a community hospital but I've lost my patience. If you need treatment you're better of driving to Las Vegas, St. George Utah, or Elko because in reality they are going to life flight you there anyway. read more
