At age 71, I'm lucky to have no serious health issues--my regular visits to White Phoenix keep me tuned up and energized. I've had many years of experience of both acupuncture and meditation and strongly recommend community-style acupuncture to be far more effective and meditative than single-person treatments. White Phoenix is soothing and peaceful from the minute you walk in the door. I find Jason to be intuitive and quietly comforting, as well as, of course, highly effective at getting the energy flowing. It's lovely to enjoy a service where they care more about you than about making money. Acupuncture is particularly effective for the problems that evade Western medicine, such as auto-immune diseases and pain. You'll be surprised to find that a whole pattern of healing occurs with acupuncture. I follow my weekly treatment with a small get together with friends in front of Carnelian Coffee next door. read more

I have been coming to White Phoenix for a couple of years. I thought no one could help me to live with my unfortunate mix of handicaps.Brain injury, brain surgery, existing brain tumor, scoliosis, back fusion surgery,P.T.S.D. ,Take a big breath, Degenerative Bone Disease, anxiety disorder, chronic pain, detoxing from years of pain management,. Living in recovery is painful and frightening Here lying on a stable warm, comforting massage table, my pain and fear drains from me in a way I have been searching for since 2010 .When I awoke from brain surgery to begin my life as a warrior in an invisible battle no one sees but me.I thought community acupuncture would be uncomfortable but instead it became part of the armour Allyndreth and Jason so gently bestow me with.I AM healing. An ongoing process many other Warriors are engaging in.You gatekeepers at the front desk are not escaping my gratitude. If you need help and are as reluctant and shy as I ...there is no need here..... read more

I've been coming since the beginning of the year and from the moment I walked in, I felt safe and welcome. Mary Ann really listened to my concerns and is a warm, gifted healer. I initially came in for chronic neck and shoulder pain, but also for allergies and energy - she's addressed all those problems wonderfully, and my severe neck pain had greatly dissipated just within two weeks. White Phoenix has been my first experience with acupuncture and I've been recommending it to everyone! read more

Allyndreth Stead is amazing! I began seeing Allyndreth while going through fertility treatments. She proved an invaluable resource and practitioner. Even bringing in another practitioner who specialized in fertility and they treated me in tandem. Now we are expecting! Recently White Phoenix Acupuncture moved to a gorgeous new facility. They offer acupuncture, herbal medicine and massage. It really is an outstanding facility! Unfortunately it is out on the east side in the FoPo neighborhood. I live way out west, so my loss is your gain. Get in and book an appointment at White Phoenix today! You won't regret it! read more

My husband has been to White Phoenix for a few months for sudden hearing loss and has raved about his treatment. Then yesterday, I had an awful headache and nausea. My husband drove me, and walking in I thought I would pass out. We saw Jason, and he was amazing. The community room is comfortable, calming, and quiet. My nausea went away within 5 minutes. My headache was more tenacious, so Jason kept working with me. I left the appointment smiling. I will be back! Thank you, Jason, for your healing. read more

Lindsey Pope is my church. I found White Phoenix through LivingSocial. I'd never heard of community acupuncture before, and was unsure what to expect. Lindsey is the coolest, kindest, most in-touch healer I've met. She listens thoroughly and knows exactly where to touch and what to do, and I always leave feeling relaxed and happy, with significantly less pain than I had going in. The location is small but welcoming, a shared room with comfortable beds, relaxing music, and the most soothing scent. Yes, you do hear other people but for the most part everyone is respectful and quiet, and I'm able to tune out and usually fall asleep. Because it's community acupuncture, only the extremities are treated, which was weird to me at first, but Lindsey is always able to find the spot that correlates with my pain. I've been going consistently for the past month now, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. They offer a sliding scale for payments which makes it very affordable--with traditional acupuncturists I'd be unable to go as often as I do now. Highly recommend! read more

I look forward to being welcomed by Rachel and treated by Ein every Saturday. Ein listens, has a light, gentle touch and caring demeanor. Although I've been getting acupuncture for years, I've never been treated for something acute where I come in to be treated multiple times per week. Their sliding scale method has enabled me to fully seek the treatment I need to heal from the inside out. I'm super happy with and grateful for this healing space. read more

Allyndreth is one of the most kind, patient, and brilliant practitioners I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have been seeing her for over 10 years, and I can honestly say she has saved my life more than once. I had chronic asthma, allergies, a thyroid condition, and a super low immune system when I started to see her. My health has improved continuously and I am a super healthy person now! I wouldn't have been able to do it without her. read more

I an 88 years old. I have chronic pain and other ailments too numerous and boring to go into here. They make me an irascible old man. When I am in the throes of muscular anguish and suffering. Regardless of the question, you'll get no more than a perfunctory grunt and a sneer from me. The first time I was talked into going to White Phoenix, I was in the throes of pain that neither my physician and opiates couldn't alleviate. I was ready to try anything. I was ushered into hushed ambience of White Phoenix and comfortably settled. I hurt. Darren stood over me with and understanding smile. Where did I hurt? I told him. He planted his needles so deftly I felt nothing. In no time, I felt nothing. No pain, no problem. I closed my eyes. Two hours later, I felt Darren's hand on my shoulder. It was time to go home. I was not only pain free, but my spirits were soaring. I was human. Not what I was when I limped in. Now, I treat myself to this healing, uplifting experience whenever I am able. I would recommend you do yourself the same favor. read more

Wonderful and caring staff. Acupuncture has helped me a great deal. I am so thankful for White Phoenix. Jason is a natural healer.

Amazing gem! Cozy atmosphere from walking in the door. Ease to make appt and do intake forms ahead of time helped. It is a community it's style room however it wasn't crowded and very spacious. Thorough consult, felt very comfortable and all of my care was explained. I left feeling like a new person. I love how total body heath is addressed not just one problem area. Thank you Allyndreth! She is very knowledgeable and patient in explaining not to mention knows how to make sure you leave feeling like a million bucks! read more

I have been dealing with cancer, treatment side effects, and chronic pain, major surgery prep and recovery. With the support and dedication of the providers (Angels ?)Allyndreth, Devin and Mary Ann, my quality of life has improved beyond measure. They have a sliding fee scale that not only make these practitioners available to anyone, but affordable enough to actually take care of yourself. If it doesn't work for you, no real financial loss. At least you got a mid-day nap. They offer acupuncture, massage, herbal consults, and really anything related to improving your health, even the more embarrassing ones. (I have prostate cancer). I know this is a long review, but there aren't enough words to describe how they changed my life for the better. Oh, the office staff are awesome people as well. They are local, professional, friendly, easy to get to and affordable. What more could you ask for? read more

I went in just looking to try acupuncture for the first time. This is a huge step for anyone like myself who was a fear of anything resembling a needle. The tone is comfortable and quiet, the staff is super nice and price in great(I used Groupon). I will definitely be going back, and will recommend it in the future! read more

I really like the way they care for people. It's actually nicer in a big quiet room than in a small office which I didn't expect. It's great that you can take as long as you want for treatment and post treatment relaxation time on the comfy heated tables. Doesn't really matter which practitioner you get cause they are all wonderful. read more

I have recently started going to acupuncture and have been so happy with the results. I highly recommend White Phoenix.

My wife and I found White Phoenix by chance after winning a gift certificate. We did not have any prior experience with alternative medicine, but we both had issues with pain, stress, and sleep and decided to give acupuncture a try. White Phoenix has since become an integral part of the overall health of our family. Allyndreth and Lindsey are great at treating everything from pain, illness, and allergies to stress, anxiety, sleep, etc. We are also grateful for the work they have done to help our children (Ages 4 and 2). Thanks to their treatments, our kids have been able to get off multiple allergy medications and their sleep, energy, and temperaments have improved dramatically. They do not use needles on children this young (it looks more like brushing and tapping different areas) and can even handle a wiggly 2-year-old. We have been going weekly for a little under a year and also have benefited from herbal supplements they prescribe and mix on site. We can't imagine our lives without this support. The sliding scale makes all of this possible. We would recommend White Phoenix to anyone looking to get out of a rut and enhance their health and wellbeing. read more

I have been treated with acupuncture for over 25 years. I am so grateful that I found White Phoenix Acupuncture when I moved to Portland recently. The sliding fee scale makes regular acupuncture treatments accessible and this is so needed in our society. I have fibro myalgia and long term chronic pain issues and was in the midst of a flair up when I found White Phoenix. I was having trouble sleeping due to the pain and was experiencing numbness and tingling in my leg. All of these symptoms are gone. The practitioners at White Phoenix are outstanding professionals; highly skilled, invested in the well-being of their patients and well established in their field. I have never had better, more effective treatment. read more

A very calming and relaxing atmosphere that has me feeling much better. Community clinics can be hit or miss but I really appreciate Allyndreth's care. I highly recommend! read more

I walked in suffering from lower back pain and a cold and walked out with a considerably happier back and feeling quite a bit better from my cold! Allyndreth worked wonders on me and while this was my first visit I am already scheduled to go back and look forward to our session! read more

I love this place, so happy to have it in the neighborhood. I have been going weekly and if I miss a week my body can definitely tell. They are extremely knowledgeable and take time to get to know you. I can't thank them enough! read more

I was in so much pain from bulging disks, bone spurs, nerve damage in my neck. I was told my only option was heavy duty narcotics and waiting util I could see a surgeon at the VA. I would have never thought about acupuncture, but I was so desparate. Allyndreth, reduced my pain the first visit, Darren about had it gone on the third visit, by the end of the week I was just taking the pain pills to withdraw from them I had been eating 6-8 oxycodone and 6 muscle relaxers a day as well. I added the Chinese herbs the second week and haven't looked back. This was all starting in January. Today I am pretty much pain free. My wife has had similiar results. White Phoenix is a WONDERFUL clinic, the people are great, and the results speak for themselves. As a side benefit, my blood sugar is down by about 20% (i'm Diabetic), my feet and toes no longer have a blue hue to them. read more

This place has changed/saved my life! I know that may sound dramatic, but my results have been dramatic. The first time I came into this place I could barley walk due to a herniated disc. Allyndreth had to help me put on my shoes and socks because I could not even bend over. I was almost pain free after 3 appointments. Before White Phoenix I had been to my doctor and physical therapy about my back pain and I was prescribed 3 different pain killers and told I needed to learn how to cope with pain. It has now been about 2 months and I have been pain free for weeks! Both Allyndreth and Darren are kind and knowledgeable and so willing to help. They are so confident in their treatment that they don't see my success as a miracle, but what should be expected. I have since had my mother come from Chicago for treatment and she has seen results after only 2 visits. I would recommend this place to anyone for anything. It is also very affordable. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have stumbled onto this place. read more

Darren and Allyndreth are amazing miracle workers! I have gotten amazing results from both of them. :) The clinic style takes a bit of getting used to, and sometimes hard to relax when getting treated, but I always leave feeling relieved and soothed. The sliding scale always makes it easy for payment. I'm here with my boyfriend today! we're both getting treated by Darren. It's his first time doing acupuncture, so I'm excited to see what the visit will bring him! :) read more

I haven't felt this good in years. Allyndreth really knows her stuff and genuinely cares about her patients. I sought treatment for chronic migraines as well as infertility. After 6 weeks my migraines have decreased by 80% and while not preggers yet, I feel great in general. More energy, decreased food cravings and increased mental clarity. Allyndreth turned this skeptic into someone who can't wait for my appointments. I also really appreciate how affordable it is! All around happy customer!! read more

I have been going to White Phoenix Acupuncture for a few months and can honestly say that Allyndreth's knowledge of the human body, herbs, and acupuncture combined with her natural care and compassion are the perfect combination for healing. Also, the flexible pricing with the sliding scale for $20-$50 a session (you choose!) makes it easy and affordable to come as often as I need. I highly recommend both her services and the clinic overall! read more

I attended White Phoenix acupuncture after buying a Groupon for two sessions there, and loved my acupuncturist, Linsey. She was attentive and compassionate and I always felt great after my sessions. One thing to note is that it is communal acupuncture, so you are in a room with approximately 5 other people who are also receiving treatment. Interestingly enough, this didn't bother me at all. The atmosphere is peaceful, and everyone is relaxed and focused on their own experience. Since then, I have started using a health plan that covers acupuncture and now attend sessions closer to home, as unfortunately Sellwood is far from me. I would still highly recommend White Phoenix and would consider going back at some point. I love how they have a sliding scale and keep treatments accessible. This truly shows their heart. If you are in the area and would like to try acupuncture, this is a great place to do it. read more

What's not to love about affordable, effective acupuncture?! I went to White Phoenix after I'd been suffering neck and head pain for almost a month as a result of stress. Nurses had told me there was nothing I could do but wait, lower the amount of stress in my life, take ibuprofin, and ice my neck. I'd been doing that for almost a month and the pain wasn't getting any less. A friend at work recommended that I try acupuncture. I was able to make an appointment immediately at White Phoenix (you can make, reschedule, or cancel appointments online completely--very easy). I'd never had acupuncture before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but after a month of pain and immobility I was wiling to try anything. The facility is very calming, and very welcoming. It's community acupuncture, which means there are three beds and multiple chairs in the treatment room. Overall, though, it just felt calming and relaxing... everyone there was there to get treated and healed and was very quiet and calm. Allyndreath took her time getting to know me and every aspect I could think of regarding my medical history. Once we started our session, the sharp stabbing pain was gone in a series of minutes, immobility problems were gone by the end of the session, and the ceaseless headache was completely taken care of in about 3 sessions. I was AMAZED. She is fantastic. Her method of acupuncture is very gentle, you can't really event feel the needles, and never leave with bruises (and I bruise really easily). Her prices are extremely low--she truly does want you to be able to afford to come in multiple times. If you have any sort of problems with pain, I highly recommend you try this--it's affordable and it certainly can't hurt! Allyndreath is great to work with and I will definitely be back! read more

I have had chronic lower back area muscle spasm and pain for over 20 years which gradually has worsened with age. Five surgeons 24 years up to the present have all recommended fusion surgery as the only option. I have spondylolisthesis at L4-5 with spinal stenosis and had another slight slippage at L5-S1 recently. After seeing Allyndreth for about 3 months, I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend Allyndreth - she is a true healer in every sense of the word. She is gentle, intelligent, sensitive, professional, and knowledgeable. Allyndreth is prescribing an herbal formula along with her acupuncture. I am feeling better each day and feeling fortunate to have discovered White Phoenix Acupuncture. Susan, Allyndreth's assistant, is also kind and of a healing nature. They promote well-being, no pain, and health and will work with you on making treatment affordable. Thank you Allyndreth and Susan! read more

i got acupuncture at another place on a groupon and loved it, but three times a week at $75 a pop left me with no options. Than I walked by White Phoenix. I called and got sent my new patient paperwork (awesome to do in the comfort of home) printed it out and came in. I admit, the needles scared me, but she was attentive, told me not to hurry, to tell HER when i felt I was done...and seriously, in seconds, literally seconds, the pain in my ankle subsided, i zoned out and snored myself awake. I have not felt that relaxed in a long time. And at the sliding scale, i can afford to go twice a week, and look forward to it. Now we are working on my back and my headaches and all the rest of my issues. I always leave feeling amazing and after something like 5 visits, I feel more alive and better able to deal. Its about getting healthy and treating the ailments, not just the symptoms. I may never stop going, even once my ailments are done with. read more
