I wanted to sell it online but didn't know what to price it at. I thought they would offer some kind of help since it was purchased at that very store, or they would have the record of the sale. The first time I went there they were uninterested in helping me, didn't offer an appraisal, and didn't offer to look up the sale. I went to another jeweler (Reynolds) who was so much more helpful. They even cleaned the ring for me. They told me that Zales probably had the receipt for the sale online, and it might be a good idea to go back and ask them if they could look for it, and if not then to call Zales corporate office. Otherwise they could appraise it for me for $89 (best price so far!). So I went to Zales again, and they couldn't locate a record of the sale from 2011! They offered to appraise it for $100, and again didn't even bother to try and find the ring in their catalog or a ring like it to give me idea of a price range. So I called Zales corporate. They told me they couldn't help me, but if I contacted my ex and had him contact them they might be able to locate the receipt and have it released to me. What??? Just give me the price of your OWN PRODUCT so I can go from there! I told the representative that I was afraid to have my ring sent off to be appraised like Zales wanted to cause I was afraid it would get lost. She said "I don't know where you live that something would be stolen or lost in the mail!" Wow. Later I went to yet another jeweler in the same mall and they helped me a ton! They were able to tell me details about the ring, like what kind of diamonds and that it was 14 K white gold, details I can list now in order to sell it. They also said they would test the diamonds in front of a potential customer for me! They cleaned it some more for me too. Why couldn't Zales do that? It was their own product! So, I would now recommend Samuels Diamonds in White Mountain Mall, as well as Reynolds Jewelers here in Rock Springs. They both went above and beyond for me and I wasn't even a customer! Zales will only be cheery and helpful if you go in there to buy something. Just don't expect good customer service if you run into a problem with jewelry they sold to you or need help with it.
