Its only open for lunch on Friday and saturday and not open at all on Sunday and Monday a true sign of a good chippy is when they can choose to open! It's been a while since my last review because I was traveling in China where Yelp was not available. But this week, I will be starting my adventure in the UK. Tonight we are having the classic UK fish and chips with a pumpkin soup starter. And without further ado, let's dive right into the review! For starters, the pumpkin soup was fresh and hot! I took a spoonful of it and burnt my throat. Very flavorful and definitely a nice starter. It also comes with two pieces of bread which is a nice addition. The fish and chips come in standard, large, and jumbo size. I got the standard size and it was already very filling so go for jumbo if you really want a challenge. As I bit into the fish, it felt as though it melted in my mouth. The batter was crispy, light, thin, and not oily. It felt like the perfect combination. I hadn't had fish and chips in a while where I haven't been eating mostly batter in a while. The waitresses were very nice and well mannered. And they were also very helpful in answering our questions. I don't remember the price of this meal but when I saw the combo price I was astounded. Not only did it come at a superb price, the meal was filling and of high quality. Fish was just about ok, the batter so hard had to cut off the edges, the starter came after the main course, only after we asked for it. The chips were the dregs of the fryer basket, bits and burned, overcooked. The main complaint though is about the spam fritter and chips for my son, it looked disgusting and he said tasted just as bad, he wouldn't let me send it back because we had already waited too long. Spotlessly clean the fish is fried to perfection and there is a good range of alternatives too kebabs, pizza, chicken etc. Generous portions help to complete the perfect meal. We travel five miles at least once a week and they also deliver in that range. Pick up a menu there is a great selection but perfect cod tops the list.
