Location: We were in Waukon for a wedding this past weekend. Bella and Aaron had a beautiful reception that landed us here at the White Haus Social event venue. The place still has the 'new car smell' and it is obviously a new construction. The place is immaculate and the design is fantastic. Parking was adequate (but 100% gravel) which may not be always ideal for ladies in high heels. They had a nice smaller outside covered patio area that was accessible by two man doors and 2 rollup garage doors. This venue could be used for an all in one stop for the ceremony and the reception, but it looks like they are waiting on grass and some more accommodations to fill in the gaps. The Good: You can see in the pictures it is a very nicely appointed venue, and the prepared for this 200 person event very nicely. The decorations and the setup we perfect for the size of the group. The flow was pretty good with the bar and the food. Drinks were served efficiently throughout the night. It was a cash bar for the mixed drinks and I am not sure if they offered any alternative payments so bring cash if you're coming here. The meal was served hot and ready through a buffet style line, and the brisket and chick dishes were both fantastic. The staff were very professional, and did a great job keeping up with demands and clearing the plates after the meal. Kudos to a very well run event! The not as good: The place filled up with people and noise in a hurry making conversation with someone right next to you somewhat challenging. My suggestion would be some decorative baffling. The sun coming through the west wall of windows in the afternoon/evening waws blinding for anyone (everyone) facing west. I am sure ownership is well aware and looking for some window coverings that might help with this. Overall - this place is a fantastic venue for events and has a fantastic staff. We made a Bar Mitzvah celebration for our son here in the summer. The owners were wonderful to deal with and super accommodating. The place is beautiful...clean and modern design throughout. Definitely recommend and would use again!! read more
