They're located in the town of Whitefield in Greater Manchester, a short walk away from the Metrolink stop; there is also parking at the rear of the restaurant, although it is quite tight, so I would advise using the tram if you can. I have wanted to dine here for a while now, having heard great things about their gluten-free offerings. The restaurant is well trained on allergens, with gluten-free options labelled on the menu, I also overheard the servers asking diners when being seated, as I was, about any allergies. It is a little expensive here, but no more than any other tapas restaurant. I couldn't find a lunch tapas offer on the menu, which many other similar restaurants do. However, this might be because I visited on a Saturday, or perhaps because it's close to Christmas and they're busy anyway. There is a "Party menu" offer to get two tapas and a side dish for £24, although depending on the dishes, it may very well be cheaper just to buy them individually. The restaurant is very large and very busy, and I sat upstairs, I was very impressed with the quality of food and service despite how busy the restaurant was. My server, Kian, was great. I ended up ordering four tapas dishes to eat personally. 1. MEATBALLS Minced Beef, Tomato Sauce, Grated Manchego The meatballs were really tasty; I ended up getting them without the manchego cheese, the portion size was good with four large meatballs and a generous helping of sauce. 2. CHORIZO IN RED WINE - Chorizo, Red Wine, Honey, Caramelised Onions, Crispy Shallots I wasn't a huge fan of the chorizo; it had some nice flavours, but I did find the onions and shallots to be a little too much. 3. CHICKEN & CHORIZO SKILLET Marinated Chicken Breast, Diced Chorizo, Peppers, Onions Optional: Add Fajita Wraps, Aioli, Pico de Gallo & Cheese The chicken was very tasty, and I enjoyed the peppers and onions, it felt like the ideal kit for making a fajita or just for having straight out of the skillet. I was given the GF fajita kit despite not asking for it, but I did find the chicken tasty, again the chorizo was just OK. 4. PATATAS BRAVAS Crispy Potatoes, Tomato Sauce, option to add Aioli This might have been my favourite dish; the potatoes were the right mix of soft and crispy, and the sauces were great, I could eat a bucket of them for sure! For drinks, I went for the Blackberry Sangria, which is a new addition to their menu for Christmas, I enjoyed this, too, it was fresh, tasty and had the right combination of alcohol, it was certainly some of the best sangria I've had, and beats many places from my recent trip to Barcelona for sure. As I made my server aware we were celebrating my birthday, he brought over a small plate of ice cream, with "Happy Birthday" written in sugar, which was a really nice touch. He mentioned how they would normally include a brownie, but they were out of stock of the gluten-free option due to it being popular. There is a service charge added to the bill, I have a hatred for service charges but on this occasion, I felt we couldn't remove it because of how good the service was. My server clarified it is shared amongst the team - so at least the restaurant doesn't try and pocket it. The loyalty system also seems to get around 5% back of your spend to use for next-time, save your code on the receipt! 4*- I had a great time here with great food, drinks and service, I would certainly return, a strong four-star rating for sure!

Croma is a set of independent Italian restaurant chains with 7 stores in the United Kingdom, mainly…read morein the Manchester area. I visited Croma two times in late November / early December 2015, and sadly have only got round to writing the review now, but it is quite a nice place in Prestwich. Croma is located inside a small complex with a cafe, a bar and a Costa Coffee and is near enough next to Marks and Spencer, but the complex it is in requires parking outside. Croma don't own this so it is just the luck of the draw with opening a restaurant here. On my first visit, the car park machines were out of order so I was concerned in getting a ticket, the staff seemed polite enough and even told me that they are not licensed to issue tickets anyway, still they got the number for me and I rang them to explain. On my first visit, I ordered an Aglefino which is usually £8.65, but was an extra £1.50 for gluten free, I found this to be a little expensive especially for the pizza, which is basically haddock, leek, egg, lemon juice and parsley. I didn't like the combination on the pizza - I guess it was okay but still it was just a combination that shouldn't happen, the only reason I couldn't stop eating it in disgust was probably with the parsley and egg added, and the gluten free base was quite nice. This is quite a nice higher end place, but still some of the prices do not warrant that, although some do depending on the pizza you order. The second visit, I ordered just a pepperoni pizza, to take out, It was quick enough and was ready by the time I pulled up in my car and entered the restaurant. The pizza was once again quite nice, although more cheese would have been nice, but still it was a nice pizza, and this was much cheaper being £7.75 and then an additional £1.50 for gluten free, which still may be a little expensive, but I don't mind paying for quality and gluten free, and this pizza was one of the better ones I have had from other chains, beating Pizza Hut, Domino's and even Bella Italia by a mile! The staff on my second visit did seem a little posh and rude, when I asked how long the pizza would take, they basically reacted in shock, but the staff here mainly seem good so I'm willing to let that slide. One of my pizzas was up to a good standard, and on one, I found it to be quite poor, which although I admit I made the wrong choice, I don't want to blame myself as it wasn't good quality, and they should simply not have put it to the menu. I would say 3 stars is a good rating for Croma, as they have shown stages of a great place to eat, but due to some minor issues such as the haddock pizza, paid parking, minor issues with the staff I feel I can only give 3 stars for now, as I want to see if other pizzas are still up to a good standard - as for now only 1/2 have been, so sadly Croma doesn't warrant 4 stars for me yet. Even charging gluten free at the same of a normal base would be nice, as this is what most other companies do such as Bella, Pizza Hut and ASK.

Croma's real positive point is that it serves up good Italian food: a variation from the usual…read moretired Pizza Express/ Pizza Hut menu. And it really is good value for money. We are talking £6 or £7 for most of the main courses with desserts still at the standard almost £4 or above price. Its a good alternative to the chain restaurants that you see everywhere without actually being too strikingly different. The atmosphere is good in the evenings as it caters well for groups. The waiters don't rush you through your dinner too much which you sometimes get at lower priced restaurants. As with everything else, the food won't blow your mind but its good enough to make you go back: I'd recommend the Duck Salad which comes with their delicious dough balls plus croutons. My sister and I have learnt to ask for the sweet chilli jam on the side as less is definitely more. Croma is good for get togethers with friends on a budget, not necessarily for big occassions. I wouldn't dress up too much to go to Croma.

I am delighted to confirm that this branch of Sainsbury's Cafe, located inside the Sainsbury's at Heaton Park has done just that. They have quite an interesting range of food now including paella and even a corned beef hash, as well as your standard supermarket cafe food, such as breakfast, soup and chips. The chips here are gluten free, and fried separately so that is great to see. Remember, that food here should be suitable if you are gluten free, although the book says so otherwise because they are basically saying it just to cover themselves, but if you let the staff know, they should be able to advise you on how it is cooked, such as letting you know if the chips were cooked with anything else for example. My most recent visit, saw me order a Corned beef hash, the price is reasonable considering what it would cost in a restaurant and my meal was okay, it wasn't fantastic, and although a little spicy, I did enjoy it, and I liked the addition of a fried egg for an extra 40p. I do feel presentation could be much improved, but for a supermarket cafe it is what you have to expect. The gluten free chips are also quite nice too. Hygiene standards seem to be improved, with it seeming a lot cleaner here, and a new type of "Table number" stands being used, they is also a good range of newspapers here to read while you are in a cafe, but with it being in a supermarket, I'm sure they wouldn't mind you taking a newspaper from the stand downstairs, to read with your drink / food. Overall, Sainsbury's is quite good for gluten free in the cafe, with a good selection of options, beating Tesco and Morrisons by a mile. I do feel this branch deserves 3 stars, as it is just your average supermarket cafe, with reasonable food and a reasonable menu.

As someone who prefers independent coffee shops, I like Pinto's across the way, but with them having typical opening hours, they are not open all day and into the evening, like this store is (open until 5:30 on a Sunday I think) The staff here seemed quite nice, a little relaxed and probably winding down and ready to finish their shift, they didn't mind me walking in, just before closing and grabbing a newspaper, which I had noticed folded up in the order of the floor of 2 tables (I know, I had the whole cafe laughing), and then looking at the newspaper stand which was all mixed up. I don't really like the coffee at Costa compared to other branches compared to most other chains and I think Huttson L nailed it, but one thing I like about Costa is they always have a few newspapers, and I was lucky enough to find The Sunday Telegraph today. The counter is quite small with a small selection of food, meaning the only gluten free food available was one wrap, and a few brownies (which are not very nice anyway), I admit this is better than some stores but still quite poor. This store is still a small store, and with a parking fee to park in a complex, which means you can't just run in for a coffee, especially considering how small and dangerous the car park is, that ruins this store too, meaning it can only be a store to visit, if you are in the area, and really isn't worth parking up for. Based on this and also issues with the size of the counter and gluten free selection, I feel this store only warrants 2 stars.

Really?! Main courses , poor salad to accompany and the fish was both "raw and off" brought to their attention the manager/owner admitted the meal was "RAW" but "TRIED DEFENDING" the off/foul smell , stating it was fresh !! ,(something the waitress openly admitted she too found worrying.) So drinks flat and against health /allergies were still served to us ,having to share starters bread, and foul smelling fish main course ,we opted out of more drinks,tea/coffee and desserts,we left with a £5.00 deduction on the bill !!! We threw that back in their face by tipping the waitress a £5, we just hope they got the sarcasm. The chef needs sacking and the owner/manager needs to take "honesty lessons" from the waitress -who by the way was lovely. Dreadful meal. Needless to say we wont be back.Their loss.
