I…read morehave only used them for routine procedures such as vaccinations, microchipping, check ups and spaying - however, they are very professional and understanding of your concerns about your pet. They are slightly pricey, but no more than any other vet I know of. They also offer the microchip slightly cheaper on certain days. They have a 24hour call out service but this can be costly. The staff are extremely helpful and will always offer you the best advice, rather than the most profitable! I would strongly recommend them to anyone who has concerns about their pet's reaction in vets. Adams are very accommodating and will often be able to fit you in at short notice or even on a drop in, however a Saturday morning is appointments only.

Once upon a time, however, we had quite a brood: hamsters, birds, guinea pigs and the lovely Benjamin Bunny, most of whom required assistance: Dixie flew into the window, Ben would only eat bourbons... we dashed to this vets each time and all the little guys were well looked after. We were seen to quickly by a very knowledgeable vet who was very patient with both animal and owner. I can't really comment on prices as each of our pet's problems were not serious and required little more than TLC; we only paid a couple of pounds for the vet's time, and Ben's pedicure.

The PDSA is a wonderful service that provides care to sick or injured animals to those who are…read moreclients. In order to become a client you have to prove that you are in receipt of housing benefit or council tax benefit and then you will receive a six months client agreement which you must take with you when you visit. You are allowed to register up to three pets and donations are requested when treatment or medications are given. It also offers vaccinations including boosters, at a reduced cost to registered clients. The reception staff, vets and nursing staff (& any other staff I have missed out) are all lovely and caring and you couldn't ask to meet nicer people who often sadly put up with verbal and sometimes physical abuse from people, which I think is absolutely disgusting. They are trying to help and don't deserve to be spat at, swore at, punched or worse and I think people need to remember that and respect and appreciate these wonderful people who are trying to treat our sick and injured pets. As soon as I walked in the lady knew who I was and she asked me to take a seat. I only had to wait a few minutes before the vet called me in. The Vet I saw was so lovely. He was kind and caring and really made me feel better. Unfortunately the outcome of his examination was not good as my rat had to be put to sleep :( The vet offered me the option of operating on my rat but he said it was very unlikely that he would survive and it would cost me a lot of money. He did not pressure me into spending extra money and made sure he gave me the facts for both options so I could make an informed choice. I left the room, clearly very upset, and the receptionist gave me a tissue and made me a cup of tea, telling me to take my time and there was no rush. Whilst I was sitting recovering the vet came out to see me and said my rat had just drifted away and did not suffer, which made me feel better. When it was time to pay the receptionist seemed to be feeling very bad to have to charge me for putting my rat to sleep, but I understood that I had to pay. The staff were so lovely and kind at Ark. I haven't had cause to go back to a vets since then but if I did I would definitely go to Ark.

After moving to Hale wood with my two cats I asked around for a good vet,the standard I was looking…read morefor had to match up to the excellent one I had used in Yorkshire,however the first vet I used could not help my first cat,he did not seem to be concerned I had to have her put to sleep, how I wish I had taken her to the Ark, my current cat is with them and I am always impressed with the facilities they have and the way she is treated, sadly her condition is not good, but still the vet was compassionate and caring she was clearly upset giving me the bad news,I would not hesitate to recommend the Ark to any companion pet owner
