White Cross Children's Home will always hold a special place in my heart. My mom has been volunteering here for almost 10 years now. I've also visited the place a couple of times and met a few caregivers and kids especially when there's an event. There's that special burst of joy when you see the kids. You'll notice from their faces that they're so happy to meet you and that they've been longing for that warm hug and love from another person. That is something they've been deprived of ever since they were born.
We also did an outreach program during our PI100 as a project. It was a totally different feeling because you get to know the children more by playing games and engaging on small talks with them. There's always gonna be that lighthearted feeling at the end of every visit at White Cross because you also get to experience what it is like to be a kid back again when you put yourself in their shoes. Despite of the kind of love that they were deprived of, these children will always have this hope inside their hearts that there are people out there who are more than willing and more than glad to give them that love they long for and deserve. read more
