I had no idea this beautiful public beach was here. The views are outstanding and the sand is pristine. We took the dog, yes on a leash, for a walk of the beach and had a great time. The small lake was a hit with campers looking to cool off. Each site has electricity and a fire pit, but make sure you bring a grill to cook on or a pit grill to place on top of the fire pit. There's a large children's playground and horseshoes pits for the adults. Firewood is really cheap at $3/bundle and they even delivered it to your camp site. There are 4 restrooms on site, but no showers or running water. It's camping and not the Ritz-Carlton so make sure you know what you're getting into. Pete and Pat live on site and made sure to check on everyone at least once a day which was really nice. They even picked up our trash every morning. Make sure to bring cash as they don't take credit.

The weather was beautiful, and the campground is so nice, and well kept. The bath/laundry house was not only one of the cleanest, but the individual shower spaces were well thought out, and the water was nice and hot. The staff were gracious and helpful, and the price for all of it was reasonable. We stayed two nights and we would certainly stay here again.

Don't get me wrong some of the staff are really good and I have known them for a very long time, yet mot of the staff do absolutely nothing all day. Some of the boys have leaks and start sinking but when you tell the staff it's always the same answer " oh I didn't know we'll work on that " yet here we are a year later and it's still not fixed. There is a water park and it's really not that bad except the pools are extremely cold and once you go down the slides enough it just gets boring. This year the water park wasn't open when they said it was supposed to be which is a common theme with this place, but this year they decided to lie and tell us that they won't open it unless it was 80 degrees outside then we came back and asked again and they came up with a different number it was 60 or 70 but the next weekend we came back and it was open yet the temperature wasn't 80. The indoor pool isn't bad I Just wish that they would clean it more not the pool but the floor and carpet as well as the bathrooms. They say they have a quiet time but people say up for as long as they want yet they do nothing about not to say we also don't do that but still they need to get it under control. One weekend the police showed up to one of the houses in the back and there were a ton of people surrounding the hose (campers I mean ) the police were trying to get the staff to stop them from going back there and yet the staff did nothing but put a message on social media when the could have easily taped the place off or put golf carts in the road. There are dance party's which aren't bad for new people but it gets old since it's every weekend. Inside the lodge there are 3 registers for staff that help people buy things and help them get normally there is not one person actually doing that and then there are 3 people standing in the corner talking or doing nothing. This place needs to get things under control and frankly needs a new manager who can actually do things rather than stand around and post on social media. Woods and waters was the old owner and they were so much better since they actually had some control on the place and didn't have leaky boats.

They always mess up our sites and we always have a big group and get the same site everytime. I went in their store to get a couple of things thw girl behind the desk didn't even look up from the computer. I once I got what I wanted I stood at the desk waiting to check out. I then gave her a $10 as she is having a conversation with another co worker. She then tells me the total again and I told her that I just gave u a 10. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CUSTOMER NOT YOUR COWORKERS. Then they made a big stink bout wearing a mask on the bus and 1st of all they didn't wear a mask at not in the store or busses and they did not make people wear them on the bus. And talk bout safety one of their trailers were missing wheels on both sides. They have the electrical boxes for the site and more than have didnt work so you had to share 1. And they said if its a problem to let them know. Ok HOW ABOUT JUST FIX IT.. This place is going down hill.

The Springdale is much older than the Kingswood. Our family enjoyed swimming and volley ball. The playground is old and the slides need repair. We did the horseback riding and that was fun, except the horses hooves needed attention. You could tell they had not had a farrier out to trim the horses in a long time. Some of the kids running the horseback riding didn't seem to have a good handle on the horses. It was quite unorganized. The worst part of the experience was the river float. The river was not only slow but the water level was low and the water was quite disgusting. At many points, your butt was touching the bottom of the river and it was mucky, rocky, and we had to get out and walk. Wear water shoes! I don't understand why the river was not dredges of all the debris. With the water table being so low, they should have prepared us for a slow moving river, and seaweed everywhere. IT WAS A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!
