"Tonight we are going to go axe throwing in central London". Saying this kind of very random sentence is always a bonus!! The 3 guys working there were very nice and explained all the safety rules and gave some good advice on how to throw the axes to hit the target. The session lasted for about an hour and a half and we were all in good spirit. Overall it was really fun, the only drawback is the price, it cost £29 per person which makes it pretty expensive when you invite a bunch of friends! read more

Learn how to successfully throw an axe. The team @ Whistle Punks is so fun and friendly. They will thoroughly guide you with form and stance in successfully throwing an axe to a target. More than likely if you're in a smaller group, they will form you into other groups as axe throwing then gets a little more competitive. There is a winner and a hall of fame wall. The best axe throwers of the group get to duel and challenge each other at the end of the session. The entrance is a little tough to find, as it's behind a gated warehouse. But follow signs for Whistle Punks along the gate, and they will buzz you in. A lot of photo and double axe throwing opportunities as well. Card only for their non-alcoholic bar ;) read more
What a great, fun and interesting experience axe throwing!!! This a great activity which i never knew existed and its such great fun!! This venue looks a bit run down both inside and out but once you get inside all of that is oblivious. The whistle punks staff were friendly and very engaging, the safety briefing was easy to understand and each member of staff gave us tips to improve our throw techniques. The game consisted of a group of 11 people on three teams as there was a big group of yelpers, there was a faceoff with two people on each team and they compete to get as much points as possible by landing the axe on the target board areas. After 3 rounds and 5 throws in each round, it gets whittled down to the facesoff semifinal and then finally the final. It was competetive fun and the staff each gave us encouragement and praises when the axe landed on the target areas.. the game lasted about 90 minutes and you get to do a few practise throws at the beginning to warm up and get use to holding and throwing a axe which was good! Overall i would go back again, it is good for poss a birthday idea or just simply a fun activity to do with friends or family! :-) read more
My friends and I bought the tickets for Whistlepunks Urban Axe Throwing via YPlan, the tickets are quite pricey which is a bit of a downfall but the activity itself is great! Based in Whitechapel, which isn't the most central and certainly not the nicest of areas, it is hard to find. To get to it, you have to take a five minute walk from Whitechapel station but there aren't any signs for it. You need to go into a building which has metal railings outside, the building itself seems to be some kind of youth hostel/ youth centre. It looks rough. Inside the actual building it's big but still not obvious where to find the axe throwing section... Just ask someone working there, which is what I did. Despite the dangers of throwing small axes, the activity is safe as long as you listen to the safety instructions properly. It's harder than it looks and most of my axes either failed to hit the target or bounced off (don't worry, there's obviously a safe distance between you and the target). Things then get a little competitive and you even have your photo taken at the end which gets posted on their page. I'd definitely have another go at this, it's a good group activity and something out of the ordinary. read more
What a place to go to let off some steam and stress! great venue not far from Whitechapel tube station and team events last about 90mins with half hour tuition first then let the games begin! Perfect for team bonding and pre office parties! read more
Another fantastic night of ridiculous fun! The spot is in a converted factory, (probably some place that worked lots of Asian women to the bone), and it has that kind of sketchy vibe still. But there were loads of group events going on, and the rowdy axe-throwing was a distraction too. The guys demo-ing were really sweet and properly gave advice on technique, to the point where switching my feet and throwing my weight back gave me a perfect bulls-eye in my first set! read more
