There is mold growing in the AC unit, the smell of mold is overwhelming. You will have to pay out of pocket for any repairs because the landlord Carolina Suastegui ignores phone calls even with emergencies. We were forced out of this unit due to the dangerous living conditions on top of violence in the area which honestly we could have overlooked if it weren't for the landlord being inconsiderate and never fixing anything. It takes 3 months average of calling her several times a week to get a response. APT 2409 landlord will not uphold the lease agreement either. Forget about your security deposit. The property management are also useless. They ignore any request to help get things fixed in your unit and don't care at all if you have a bad experience living here. Complaints aren't addressed. My first day I worked in the flexible open space on the first floor. Seating was ample and comfortable. Kitchen was handy (purchase your own snacks will a self checkout iPad). Being on the first floor, it had direct access outside and waterfront views for great walks during breaks. The second day I reserved a private office. That was on the third floor and it was a nice spot. Walls are glass so if you're doing anything proprietary or notably private, it won't meet your need there. WiFi was good. Also, special thanks to the staff for helping me with some annoying network needs. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the day. It's important to know you have to pull up to the building and valet park. The parking was free iirc. Enter the building and inform the building security on the right that you're visiting Axis. They have to let you in. I didn't find that super clear. They're also (understandably) strict on the 5:00 pm closing time if you're not a member. Use the valet ticket to call your car before coming out (valets prefer it, actually).

I have some issues that would keep me from being a regular if I lived here- particularly that the phone booths are not at all sound proofed, have uncomfortable chairs, and have terrible lighting for video calls. Has a bro-y vibe somehow. This is all based on just being in the open spaces.

The neighborhood is super friendly and welcoming. You can walk to many places and kayak in the canal nearby. The layouts are very spacious and unique and the prices are reasonable for the amount of space that you get in this area. The HOA is not a pain in the a** like many others are, and they maintain the property well. Of course, the individual units are the responsibility of their owners... so the condition may vary if you are renting. The good thing is that this complex is relatively new (built in 2005) compared to most places nearby within this price range. I lived here during the major flooding in Fort Lauderdale, on the ground level, and did not have any issues. My car was fine and my unit did not flood. There is a lot of guest parking and the spots on the outskirts of the property (with no designated markings) are free for anyone to park in. Very rare for this area. Don't park in the guest or resident spots without a pass, obviously. lol. If you choose to live here then be aware that you are living in a downtown area... and unfortunately that just means you have to be more careful than a suburb. The police station provides some safety to the neighborhood but they can't catch everything. It's the same deal if you live anywhere in downtown fort lauderdale or miami. So yeah, if that's something that you are scared of then you should probably move to like parkland idk. My advice living here would be get a ring camera, use the security system that comes with your unit, and be mindful of where you park your car.
