I lived at Avalon Toscana for just over 13 months, and can overall unfortunately not recommend living here. I have some great things to say about this complex, but the negatives unfortunately outweigh them. The maintenance staff was incredible. They are extremely nice, fast, and respectful of your apartment. We never had an issue last more than a couple of days at most thanks to those guys. They are the true backbone of toscana. When my girlfriend and I first signed our lease, we were helped by a woman named Twana. She is awesome, probably carrying the entire front office on her back. She's the kind of person you feel like you've always known when you meet her. Extremely personable, well spoken, funny, and really just made the entire experience signing up simple which is nice because moving is anything but. That is all for the positives. First, enjoy having the worst time parking. The parking lot itself is tiny and thin. People are constantly driving way too fast through the lot and although they have sent out emails trying to combat it, nobody seems to care. There are not nearly enough guest parking spots and definitely not enough actual parking for tenants. If you want to have a simpler time parking, you absolutely must get a garage for an extra $150 per month and even that is extremely skinny and very awkward to park in. Overall the parking alone would be enough to never rent here, I know it's south Florida but even for around here, the parking lot is the worst I have ever seen. Now, I can't speak for everyone in the front office as I've only had experience with two employees, Twana and Feroze. Feroze is among the worst employees at a business I have ever personally encountered, the man has absolutely no social or speaking skills and has no business working in a sales / customer service role. I've worked in customer service, sales, and management my whole life and have never had a worse encounter than the one I had with Feroze. I only ever had two interactions with Feroze, and BOTH were negative. The first was when my girlfriend and I were in the office to extend our lease for a month. It didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing and didn't make the situation easy for us at all. We needed to extend our lease to the end of March instead of the original date of March 13th. Feroze was rigid, and not interested in coming up with solutions. Simply stating we'd have to pay for the entire month. Before even being able to come to this conclusion, he said we simply couldn't extend because we were trying to do it a few days after the deadline and we'd need to vacate. It was actually Twana who had giving the OK on being able to extend for simply two weeks and paying half of the agreed upon month to month amount. I figured, I'll never have to interact with this guy again so what's the difference, wrong. Today I went in to collect mail / packages that were delivered after we moved, and Feroze was so rude and callous it made me wonder how this man was employed here to begin with, which should make anyone question the decision making at Avalon Toscana. I was just leaving the gym where masks are not required here in south Florida and simply did not have one on me. After walking on Feroze told me I'd need to have a mask to be inside. I reached in my pocket to find one and unfortunately I simply didn't have one, I was also at least 30 feet away from him. I do understand any private business may request me and anyone else to wear one, no problem at all. I tried to just ask him a question about getting my packages and started to tell him I lived here for 13 months and he rudely spoke over me not even letting me ask my question. I said "I just have a quick question" and before I could get the sentence out, he continued to speak over me, like some sort of immature child. To be spoken down to by a small man trying to play cop and make someone's day harder for the power trip is beyond unacceptable. Everyone should stay far away from this complex and any other complex owned by Avalon since they're decision making is clearly flawed. read more
