As other reviewers have noted, it's always a party inside, meaning there is always music playing, and it puts everyone in a good mood. The beer and wine selection is great for such a little neighborhood shop, and the staff is always, and I mean ALWAYS a pleasure to deal with. In fact, as customer service goes, this might be some of the best I have ever experienced.
There is nothing pretentious about this place. In fact, inside and out, it looks just like any other neighborhood liquor store. However, Daryl takes pride in his work, and is not only unbelievably professional in a business where that term rarely applies, but he is also about the best dressed guy under 65 in the entire neighborhood. Seriously, somebody raised this kid exactly right. He dresses and behaves like an old-school gentleman behind that goddamn counter, and even takes the time to refer to your debit receipt before he hands it to you, so he can call you by name when he thanks you, and tells you to have a great night. All of this is so genuine and natural, and is exactly what makes me keep coming back here. Props to Daryl and his crew, who turn what could easily be just another forgettable 10 minute trip to the corner packie into something worth talking about.
You just can't make stuff like this up.
