I found LPL Financial through Dave Ramsey's ELP referral…read more The good: They are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about investing. They are very straight-forward about what they charge, how they make money off you, etc. They know Ramsey's investing methods very well, and they will teach you anything you want to know about the investments you are making. They also make it easy to fund your investment accounts. They work well as a set-it-and-forget-it sort of deal; once you decide on what funds you will invest in, they will just make those same transactions each month and take their commission each time. The commission they take is not very high. The meh: They send you monthly e-mails about why you should keep investing in bad economic times. Their website is less than helpful, as it doesn't show you how much your investments are growing, nor does it allow you to compare your investments to S&P 500. It only shows that your account balance is going up (which it obviously is because you put more money into it each month). The bad: When you contact your financial adviser, it usually takes about a week to get back to you.

LPL financial is a crook ! When I transferred money out, they charged me $40 retirement fee before…read morethe end of year. Then They Charged me $120 transfer fee. It took me 13 months to transfer any money from them! I called 100 times throughout the year. They kept telling me this and that, just to avoid transfer my money out!!!!!!! Last year, the money was transferred from the poor Cathay Bank's financial advisor with Berlington fund which over 15 years lost 75% of the value to Prime Financial service then to Cetera financial then to LPL then to Cetera back and forth. By the time the account went to LPL, it was August 2019, that advisor Gabriel was told by me our mailing address, but Feb 2019, they said they did not know. I could not find if the money was in their company. They tried hard to eat up my money. What they did, they deduct $40 last December! I kept trying to transfer, every 2 to 3 weeks calling them, they kept delaying the procedure. Then finally they delayed to last quarter, now November, they are eligible to steal $40 again before the end of year! This is a crook company. No one there is a professional. I got different instructions every time I called. I kept filling forms ... IF I have a choice, I will sue them. There will be negative star rating -5!

Terrible, terrible service! Avoid at all costs!…read more I went into the local office last year to ask for help moving some money around because I wanted to make sure I was doing things correctly when it came time for taxes. I was advised to do things a certain way and when I asked, "Wait, won't that cause me to incur a penalty?" they said "Oh, great question! no, you'll be fine" Well, now it's tax time, and guess who's facing penalties? Yep, me! I've tried calling the office and my concerns were shrugged off, "Well, I guess you'll just have to pay it then..." ARGH. Fortunately for me, my tax moves were small ones so this is a *cheap* lesson to learn, but the fact that they got such a simple tax question so completely wrong is just unbelievable. I called corporate, which did what it could to make things right, but once these tax moves are made, there's nothing you can do to "undo" them. I've called the Fresno office several times to try to speak with the branch's upper management, but they won't return my calls. Be extremely careful when working with this office! Their advice is careless, and when a mistake happens, you're on your own. I'll be taking my money elsewhere. This is too important for mistakes and misinformation like this.

Warning for you : Imagine not having access to your account , draw money out , lose ability to buy…read moreor sell stocks while they hold your money , not know why it's happening , no client phone number for verification team and going in person to the bank with drivers license does absolutely nothing to verify your identity ....they still hold your money. I get the need for security but the way it's handled and the time involved is ridiculous. Very hard to reach branch but WORSE ...I would never stick money in here again if there was a chance I'd need it or want to to have access to know or see my balances on my stocks, checking account, or ability to buy and sell as the market changes. ! Even going in the branch does nothing. I get no information and apparently it could take a week or more for any answers ...while all this time I have zero access to any of my accounts or info on them or even why it happened. I've lost confidence in CS and you need to be warned !!
