I am from Louisiana and trying to keep skating alive! I bring my own Harlick Roller Skates made in California. For the past 10+ years my husband and I have made a goal to skate in each state at least one time. I was on a road trip and just settled. When I soon realized there is a skate rink open nearby. First lets start with everyone was super nice at this skating rink and all staff was very professional. The skating rink was very clean! I would have to say that this building is very very small for the amount of games they have in the arcade. Which loses space with birthday party Vs snack bar seating. For skate rental area I think is a great set up but wish there where seats in that area to put skates on. There should also be a very large sign that says watch your step and or a railing for more novice skaters. Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt. I also think having the lockers out of the way of the snack bar is great but I don't think they should be on the floor or at least have it separated by a wall. You really should have customers walking on the skating rink floor. I one hundred percent love the vibrant colors of the build, great job on the art work. I don't recommend adults to walk on the floor with there children it is dangerous for them and other skaters. All and all so far great job. Now I want to add a little about this skating floor. While I have skating on concrete floors in the past that had a blue polly paint like this one did. I have never skated on a floor this bad. I don't think there was one part of the skating rink floor in that building that didn't have a bump or ripple in it. I mean hear me out, your facility is a skating rink. Which mean your number 1 priority is your floor. Everything else could absolutely suck in this building but if you have a nice skating rink floor people would still come back to skate. If someone wanted to skate on a bumpy floor they would have better luck outside skating. I suggest and this is only my opinion and everyone's free to make their own choices. That you sand and strip you whole floor and then add a new nice fresh re-coat, you just can't have this patch work all over the place. Make sure to keep your rink rats abiding by the rules just like everyone else. Lastly the owner was very sweet and kind to her employees and happy to see that. Working at a roller skating rink is a great first job and happy to see your giving them this opportunity. I would recommend this roller rink to everyone who lives in Montana or just so happens to pass through. You will have a great time and it's easy that they allow you to pay by the hour. Only giving four stars due to the skating floor being in such bad shape. Can't wait to see you guys again for another great day of fun. read more

Terrible experience. Had a birthday party and were harassed the entire time. Don't do anything or they will come at you and harass you. Going too fast on your skates even though there are separated spaces for amateurs and professionals? They yell at you and all of your children. Also, stand in the wrong spot? You need to move or they will get sued. Bring a bottle of water or a coffee as a grown adult? better throw that away. Play the games wrong? you are going to be kicked out. If you say anything to them, they threaten to call the cops. The birthday was ruined before we could even open the birthday boy's presents or have cake. Oh, also do not bring anything to cut your cake or you will be harassed also. Literally every move made from 9-year-old to 60-year-old was judged and harassed. Will never have a party here again. If I wanted to have my kids yelled at all day I would do it myself. However, said 10 children were being respectful and good and still were being yelled at for every move they made anyway. The owner needs to figure out a waiver and/or sell the place to someone who doesn't need to micromanage every move in the place, "Because they might get sued." This way they do not have to be rude and disrespectful the entire time that an entire party is there who paid good money to be there, to both children and adults. It is definitely nothing like Wheels West when we were kids 20 years ago, it is a place where if you do not follow every rule in the book, they will literally threaten to call the cops on you if your party does not leave because some people wanted to skate fast. Very Clean, Friendly, Fun, Family Atmosphere. My kids have been skating at Wheels of Thunder for about 7 years and I have watched the owner put her heart and soul into creating a great atmosphere. She loves to skate, loves for others to learn and excel. The rink participates in the Kids Skate Free program, they offer many birthday party packages that can include arcade games in the package. Events planned include cartoon character events and skate nights for adults so that they can try out cool tricks and not worry about hurting little ones. The staff is very friendly and the snack bar has a good variety. The prize booth for the arcade games is out of this world, the variety of prizes is wild. Also they still do the traditional skate games I remember as a kid. Music is fun, lighting is fantastic, a great value. Also there are skate mates to rent for those not sure on their feet yet. 100% recommend for a family outing, birthday party, or a private event. To address the one star reviews : No outside food however they do offer a cheap cup of water and ice and yes there are rules for the safety of everyone. Go check it out! read more

I am always stoked to skate in new places but was really disappointed in my experience with this place. Brought my water bottle (paid to skate for 3 hours) and was told I couldn't bring it in. I assume maybe the lady who owns the place thinks people will try to bring booze in that way, so I offer to dump my water out and then asked if I can refill it in the sink and was told absolutely not. I ask if I'm not allowed to hydrate? She says I can, but only if I purchase water from her concession. What the hell? read more
