The steel piece holding the chains to the frame had somehow sheered off. Well you can't legally tow without the chains in place, so we were stuck. Calling around for help we found most places couldn't get us in for at least a couple days. Then someone suggested Ace. They took us in first thing the next morning welding a new bar with the safety chains in place. We were on the road within an hour and the cost was much less than we expected. Ace Welding came to the rescue and were able to put together a beautiful rail that did not need the deck for support, yet serves the same purpose as if one were there. First contacted this company in the Fall of 2018 to come out to Frankfort to provide a quote for a…read morestainless steel arch to mount solar panels on our sailboat. They never showed or called. Contacted them again in very early Spring 2019. We needed the work completed by Labor Day 2019. "Sure, no problem." Boat was going to be in Traverse City, and so they finally got us a quote by the middle of summer. Deposit given to them in less than a week. Not until the second week of October 2019 did the work get done. And the arch is too flimsy. We will have to add bracing ourselves as we are leaving the area on the sailboat in less than a week. Very expensive, $4K, for a flimsy arch. I recommend boaters and others look elsewhere for their stainless and aluminum work.

Carl is 85 years old and has been welding for a loooong time. He helped me fix my trailer last year and this spring I took an old kiln over to him to see if he could help me convert it into a maple syrup boiler. He said he could help me and that it would cost $20. That was so cheap I offered to throw in a bottle of maple syrup as well. Due to health Carl isn't always in so call ahead. Great guy.
