I'm an umpire and I just finished empireing three games back to back out here at Wheeler Park went up to the concession stand to get something to drink and they told me that they don't give umpires anything free to drink so I tried to buy one scratched up enough cash to get one and then I got told that they don't take cash. We stopped her after dinner while visiting OKC. It was very low key and relaxing. The kids loved the Ferris wheel, it's very beautiful all lit up at night. Spent some time swinging in a hammock. Glad we stopped. read more

Wheeler park is interesting. On one hand it's kind of out in this random area all by itself, with no substantial trees and feels kind of desolate a lot of the time. On the other hand, it has a great view of downtown, the giant OKC is cool for taking pictures, the Ferris wheel is fun and has great views and if you go here with a bunch of people this is a pretty cool spot. The context in which you visit this place will greatly color your experience and opinion of this place in my experience. Overall, pretty cool and worth checking out. I'd recommend going when other people will be here, like evenings, especially on the the weekend. read more

Came here on a Sunday late afternoon, plenty of parking although pretty full. Lots of people enjoying the sunshine, hanging out at the hammocks, tables, some riding the ferris wheel. Really pleasant spot next to the water, very peaceful, not much street noise. Enjoyed hanging out here! read more

Walked my dog from Wheeler Park to Riversports and back. Cleaned up after my dog; per City ordinance. Could we have a couple of trash cans between the two parks along the North side of the river walks. Carried three bags of poop for at least a half a mile. Only one bag came from my dog. read more

What a great place! It's a fun place to hang out on a nice cool Summer evening. The Ferris wheel provides a great view. There are games, food trucks and hammocks. My husband and I sat back in a hammock watching our kiddos play. We stayed for about an hour. The Ferris wheel was a great way to just be with ourselves and enjoy some family time. I highly recommend brining guests here, or a great family friend evening out. read more

Nice paved trails along river with views of Ferris wheel across the river. We walked under the overpass, which has dirt/mud nests made by birds attached up under the overhangs. They were unique to tourists like us. Sturdy pedestrian bridge on the path. A pleasant place with a pretty big parking lot and baseball/soccer fields. Please note that there are views of the Ferris wheel across the river but it is not part of this park. read more

What an excellent example of a burgeoning city. Tonight was live music, excellent beer, kids, dogs, and an indispensable big blue Oklahoma sky. Keep an eye out on their site and social media for live music and food trucks. The wheel is $6/adult to ride. Kids under four are free. It lights up at night too. Make sure to take your honey to the hammocks to sit alone and talk, and watch a hawk making lazy circles in the sky. read more

This is the park across the street from the Ferris Wheel. All the peeps who think it's what the Ferris wheel is, got it wrong. There are several ball fields for playing baseball abs quite a bit of green area. This is a place to walk your dog, have a picnic, or watch a game. One of my most favorite places in OKC! The outdoor shoppes are amazing! I came here with my family to celebrate my sisters birthday and loved every minute of it! I expected the typical concession food, but I was delightfully surprised to find local treasures from our city! There is a great picnic area if you decide to bring your own food! We had a blast in their field playing soccer! We created so many memories I'll never forget! Let's talk about the Wheel, because it's amazing! You can literally see our whole city from the top! The parking lot is closed off until April. I knew the Ferris wheel was, but it wasn't clear the park portion which contains the giant OKC sculpture (and restrooms and snack bar) and its parking lot access would be closed until April. I have no idea if the park is blocked off from the river path (ie can you still visit the giant OKC or lie in a hammock?) but I'm guessing it is. If open, nice park. read more

I would give this 10 stars if I could. We recently visited OKC, and I took three teenagers for an evening out. It was as if they were transported back in time! The first five minutes we were there the cell phones went in pockets without being asked. There was light music playing, making it feel like a scene from a movie. It wasn't too crowded, and all of the kids that were there were kind and playing well together. The Ferris Wheel was the only thing we had to spend money on, and it was very reasonable. The concessions were reasonably priced as well, but we only had water this trip. There was plenty of shade and a covered area with giant yard games like Jenga and ping pong. We spent two hours playing frisbee and soccer. All of the hammocks were full but it we had to wanted we would have been able to grab one. Before we left we took a priceless picture on the OKC sign. There were some kids hanging out on it but when we went to take the picture they very politely stepped out. I'm recommending this to everyone. read more

I hadn't been to this park until I attended the Free To Breathe 5K a couple of weeks ago. Registration and a rally was held at Wheeler, with the 5K course running along the river. I was happy to see all the amenities here - baseball fields, bleachers and more. There were a lot of people here for the 5K, but there was plenty of room and I can see this becoming a very popular venue for all manner of active events with all the expansion and renewal happening in downtown. There was also ample parking, and the access to both downtown and the river make it a really nice location. Parks and recreation facilities like these, so close to downtown, are exactly what OKC needs to help round out all the restaurants and entertainment options in downtown and Bricktown. With the river trails connecting through to the boathouse district, you can really create a fun, active experience for yourself and your family and friends. read more

This is a great place to take your family or date on a nice Summer evening. There is typically a food truck parked here so you can get dinner while relaxing too. In addition to that, you can relax in a hammock, swing, or ride the ferris wheel. If you get tired of relaxing, just take a stroll down the paved trail by the river. Fun. Family. Date Night. Great venue for family's & lazy days by the river. There are HUGE hammocks near the bike trail along river so the view is beautiful. I have only passed thru while biking so haven't tried food or rides. The stunning Ferris Wheel is spectacular. The city bought it off eBay from the Santa Monica pier ! There's no entrance fees so it makes an affordable option for diversion within the city! read more
