What a beautiful visit my daughter and I had today. I remember the first trip to the bridge way back in the 90s with my bride. It was beautiful then and now after the renovation it looks amazing. Located in the center of OKC's Myriad Botanical Gardens downtown, it is a very nice break from the city. It's not a very large conservatory and can easily walk it within an hour. But it's unique architecture makes it stand our with the suspended bridges. There are an assortment of unique plants including a whole section for various cacti. It's just plants, no animals. There a few information cards and scent samples for learning purposes. There is also a kids learning classroom inside. The only downside was some of the smelling info station were out and some info cards were a little vague or wasn't clear enough to pinpoint it to the plant it was talking about so it could be a little better maintained. Also there are technically two entrances but they only allow access from one from the outside which was a little annoying to have to walk another 5 mins to the other side. Tickets were around $10 when I went, which is alright. This is a tropical conservatory so be prepared to sweat. read more

I visited the Crystal Bridge Conservatory at Myriad Botanical Gardens with a friend, and it was truly magical. The greenhouse showcases more than 750 plant varieties, with beautiful waterfalls and elevated walkways. The setting made me feel like I was exploring a tropical paradise right in the middle of Oklahoma City. The plant displays are thoughtfully arranged in both tropical wet and tropical dry zones. Informative signs throughout the conservatory make learning about all the different plants interesting and fun. I really appreciated the unique architectural design and the views from the overlook terraces. Admission is very reasonable at ten fifty for adults, with discounts for seniors, military, students, and youth. Children under four and members get in free. The gift shop is also worth a visit and supports education and conservation efforts. read more

I really love visiting gardens, so I saw several on a long weekend trip to Oklahoma City. The Crystal Bridge Conservatory is located in Myriad Botanical Gardens. This is such a unique space that "floats" over a water feature in the garden. Nice to explore the three level conservatory with a diverse collection of tropical plants, art installations, a reflecting pool, and a two-level waterfall. It is a very interactive space. The "Cloud Portal" sculpture designed by Scott Murase divides the north and south ends of the conservatory. You can walk through the installation which frames views of the waterfall at one end and the reflecting pool at other side. Explore the tropical paradise. Climb to the second and third levels to get a birds-eye view of the cascading waterfalls from the lookout. Check out the bromeliads, orchids, and aloe plants. Love the Crown of Thorns, Peacock Flowers, Desert Roses and Blue Agave. The Chenille Plants looked so soft. The Spiral Ginger plants almost look like pineapples. Take a walk on the Sensory Skywalk for a different view. Stop to smell the different plants along the way. I used my Graycliff Martins Level Museum pass for reciprocal admission. The Crystal Bridge has been a mainstay in downtown OKC for as long as can remember. It is set up as a conservatory and has plants from many different climates. The inside is segmented into the different areas with plants tht are native to those areas. It has 2 levels and the second level puts you up in the canopy and you have a great view. Everything is pretty much handicap accessible with elevators and ramps. It does get very warm and humid inside especially in the summer months so be prepared for tht. The Crystal Bridge(Botanical Conservatory) is one of the best indoor attractions in OKC, and it is a great idea by the City to build back in the 1980s. Considering the development and political views of the city this really makes me proud of the governmental leadership and mindfulness that OKC was built on by including this site After 37ish years of being built; the city decided to restructure the interior starting in 2020. After nearly two years of renovations; the grand re-opening was a much awaited for event in November 2022 There are two main botanical themes that are clearly seen when exploring. The south side and the middle is tropical, and on the north side are dry-climate plants I highly recommend for you to look in between and through the plants even when you think that you have explored everything as you are strolling thru the tropical sections. You may overlook something inconspicuous that the staff may not even know is there. Blooms and sprouts are fast moving and even within an hour of exploration you could see the nastic action of plants occurring; you may even be able to time it correctly by visiting during times with drastic lighting changes You'll be able to participate in events held by staff that range from fun facts, interactive crafting, and/or educational. There are also events that are recurring such as guided tours, and yoga or yoga related movements. Check out the calendar on the website to see what's happening each day There are many plants and trees that produce edible fruits and beans, and maybe once those are harvested you may be able to keep an eye out for an event featuring a class or event that allows you to be involved with sampling or learning about the product. I am most interested in the Chocolate Tree's story for reasons I'd say are obvious This is an ecosystem and it is being managed in order to keep aggressive organisms out, but tame and helpful organisms will begin to inhabit the interior, so this will be an ever-changing and developing biological timeline I look forward to experiencing The staff are all knowledgeable, and from my experience they love answering questions and sharing fun facts about the ecosystem that may not be immediately noticeable read more

It really amazes me how much there is to do and see in OKC! I've been wanting to visit the Crystal Bridge for a really long time. So when someone on Yelp told me about the "Deceptive Orchids" exhibition I was totally stoked! I love orchids and have always wanted to know more about them and I wasn't disappointed! There were many informative signs, pictures and QR codes to read/scan and get more information along the way. I really like how the pathways created a journey for us. It really felt like we were in a lush tropical jungle/rainforest teaming with beautiful orchid blooms. I was able to see so many types of orchids that I'd never seen nor heard of before! So many vibrant colors and interesting shapes. My love and respect for orchids definitely grew after visiting this exhibit. If you're unable to see this exhibit this year, you'll be pleased to know that it's an annual thing! I'll definitely be back next year! We're so lucky to have beautiful places like this in Oklahoma City! read more

Gorgeous gem in the middle of the city! Prominent part of the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Visited on a day trip to OKC. 42° outside, but you walk into the Atrium and you feel transported, like you just stepped into a tropical rainforest - lush tropical foliage, the sounds of running water from surrounding waterfalls and streams, and a gentle humidity. I forgot it was winter outside! Beautiful paths wind through the lower level, you can see fish in the ponds, various trees and plants with labels telling you what they are. There are benches where you can sit and take in the serenity of it all. Even though there were quite a few people walking through, it was still very peaceful and tranquil. A tiny area houses some creatures you may run across in a jungle - Blue Dart Frogs, Hissing Cockroaches, Geckos etc. Staircases, some hidden, take you to the upper level where you can walk across the bridge, lots of "secret" areas provide for amazing photo opportunities! Definitely a place to "get away" and right in the middle of the city. read more

What an amazing surprise in Oklahoma City. At the behest of my sister who had just had her first child, I went to check out the scene in downtown OKC. Driving past the Brickyard (or is it Bricktown) area during the day isn't that big of a thrill. I mean, what's there to see? The Sonic HQ? The place they play ball? Give me any other city's downtown area, and I couldn't distinguish them apart. Spaghetti Warehouse, Melting Pot, numerous bars and pubs? Wow, so original...just like all the A&F storefronts in malls. Yeah, whatever. BUT!!!!! Crystal Bridge and Myriad Gardens? Fantastic, and I'll tell you why. Location: 5 out of 5 I figure most people who visit OKC go downtown. This place is downtown. If you go at certain hours of the day, the parking is free and onsite. Service: 5 out of 5 Goodness gracious everyone I met that day was so friendly. From the nice lady in the gift shop that sold me my "admission" ticket (really just a receipt that doubled as the parking voucher) to the info desk person inside, everyone was smiling, friendly, and more than happy to be of help where they could. Quality of Attractions: 5 out of 5 Please see my pictures. I can't really describe this place. Museum doesn't do it justice. It's more like...an indoor awesome greenhouse. And get this - I usually don't like "nature" things, but even I was impressed by what this place had to offer. Again, see the pics I post because words don't do it justice. Pricing: 5 out of 5. I believe that admission was 6 dollars. And again, it covered the parking fees, but I think only during certain parts of the day. Overall: 5 out of 5 Probably the best thing I saw all weekend in OKC. It's family friendly, there's lots to see, they have two parrots in the front that squawk sometimes (but they were asleep when I went), and in the spring and summer months I bet it's really great to sit outside in the garden area. read more

I was really excited to get to visit the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory that I had heard about a few times for the first time. I decided to go because I found it is free on the 25th of every month of 2013 for their 25th anniversary, (except December 25, when they are closed for Christmas). There were a ton of plants, textures, and information about each one! I could have spent a little longer than the half hour or so that I did, but it was really humid and there were a lot of people in there that day. Seeing the building, I expected it to be a little small, but it was a bigger than I thought it would be! There was an upper and lower teir, stairs that were still exciting with the plants they had winding up with you, a beautiful waterfall, festive kites, and a bridge that allowed a bird's eye view of the whole thing! There are a lot of nooks and crannies that let you explore as well. Take your time and "enjoy all the little things -- smell the flowers, listen to the rushing water, and breath in the fresh tropical air. There is a large variety of plants in such a small place so you may miss something interesting if you don't take your time (borrowed from another review)". From the other reviews, it sounds like it will change slightly a little every few months. They didn't have ducks in there when I went, but there was a parrot! I spoke with a volunteer there and learned that anyone could do it, they give you the training and then you get to come all you like! I do think that the general admission price is a little up there, but the free days are awesome! read more

Hear me out- very pretty overall grounds of the area and very beautiful park, places to sit, but I am not sure why I just paid to go inside. I'm from Vegas and its so hot I almost fainted. Also it's very brief. The inside part is not very large and if you are there just to look, it goes by in 20 min. It felt more like a green house than anything inside. read more

OKC completely won me over, and this piece of heaven is a big part of the experience. The entire grounds surrounding Crystal Bridge have something for everyone. And it's FREE! It was a great place to lie in the grass, look up at the sky through a giant elm tree's leaves and soak in the beauty of this world.
