While a bit small, it is very well done. A lot of educational facts about the featured plants, that talk about how different cultures have used plants for medicine, food, ceremonies, and so much more.

The Deceptive Orchids exhibit was amazing and apparently an annual event!

It really amazes me how much there is to do and see in OKC! I've been wanting to visit the Crystal Bridge for a really long time. So when someone on Yelp told me about the "Deceptive Orchids" exhibition I was totally stoked! I love orchids and have always wanted to know more about them and I wasn't disappointed! There were many informative signs, pictures and QR codes to read/scan and get more information along the way. I really like how the pathways created a journey for us. It really felt like we were in a lush tropical jungle/rainforest teaming with beautiful orchid blooms. I was able to see so many types of orchids that I'd never seen nor heard of before! So many vibrant colors and interesting shapes. My love and respect for orchids definitely grew after visiting this exhibit. If you're unable to see this exhibit this year, you'll be pleased to know that it's an annual thing! I'll definitely be back next year! We're so lucky to have beautiful places like this in Oklahoma City!

Gorgeous gem in the middle of the city! Prominent part of the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Visited on a day trip to OKC. 42° outside, but you walk into the Atrium and you feel transported, like you just stepped into a tropical rainforest - lush tropical foliage, the sounds of running water from surrounding waterfalls and streams, and a gentle humidity. I forgot it was winter outside! Beautiful paths wind through the lower level, you can see fish in the ponds, various trees and plants with labels telling you what they are. There are benches where you can sit and take in the serenity of it all. Even though there were quite a few people walking through, it was still very peaceful and tranquil. A tiny area houses some creatures you may run across in a jungle - Blue Dart Frogs, Hissing Cockroaches, Geckos etc. Staircases, some hidden, take you to the upper level where you can walk across the bridge, lots of "secret" areas provide for amazing photo opportunities! Definitely a place to "get away" and right in the middle of the city.

What an amazing surprise in Oklahoma City. At the behest of my sister who had just had her first child, I went to check out the scene in downtown OKC. Driving past the Brickyard (or is it Bricktown) area during the day isn't that big of a thrill. I mean, what's there to see? The Sonic HQ? The place they play ball? Give me any other city's downtown area, and I couldn't distinguish them apart. Spaghetti Warehouse, Melting Pot, numerous bars and pubs? Wow, so original...just like all the A&F storefronts in malls. Yeah, whatever. BUT!!!!! Crystal Bridge and Myriad Gardens? Fantastic, and I'll tell you why. Location: 5 out of 5 I figure most people who visit OKC go downtown. This place is downtown. If you go at certain hours of the day, the parking is free and onsite. Service: 5 out of 5 Goodness gracious everyone I met that day was so friendly. From the nice lady in the gift shop that sold me my "admission" ticket (really just a receipt that doubled as the parking voucher) to the info desk person inside, everyone was smiling, friendly, and more than happy to be of help where they could. Quality of Attractions: 5 out of 5 Please see my pictures. I can't really describe this place. Museum doesn't do it justice. It's more like...an indoor awesome greenhouse. And get this - I usually don't like "nature" things, but even I was impressed by what this place had to offer. Again, see the pics I post because words don't do it justice. Pricing: 5 out of 5. I believe that admission was 6 dollars. And again, it covered the parking fees, but I think only during certain parts of the day. Overall: 5 out of 5 Probably the best thing I saw all weekend in OKC. It's family friendly, there's lots to see, they have two parrots in the front that squawk sometimes (but they were asleep when I went), and in the spring and summer months I bet it's really great to sit outside in the garden area.

I was really excited to get to visit the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory that I had heard about a few times for the first time. I decided to go because I found it is free on the 25th of every month of 2013 for their 25th anniversary, (except December 25, when they are closed for Christmas). There were a ton of plants, textures, and information about each one! I could have spent a little longer than the half hour or so that I did, but it was really humid and there were a lot of people in there that day. Seeing the building, I expected it to be a little small, but it was a bigger than I thought it would be! There was an upper and lower teir, stairs that were still exciting with the plants they had winding up with you, a beautiful waterfall, festive kites, and a bridge that allowed a bird's eye view of the whole thing! There are a lot of nooks and crannies that let you explore as well. Take your time and "enjoy all the little things -- smell the flowers, listen to the rushing water, and breath in the fresh tropical air. There is a large variety of plants in such a small place so you may miss something interesting if you don't take your time (borrowed from another review)". From the other reviews, it sounds like it will change slightly a little every few months. They didn't have ducks in there when I went, but there was a parrot! I spoke with a volunteer there and learned that anyone could do it, they give you the training and then you get to come all you like! I do think that the general admission price is a little up there, but the free days are awesome!

My wife and I went to enjoy the Crystal Bridge and ended up walking around the entire gardens, they were very pretty, so many coy fish to enjoy feeding and lots of shaded areas to sit and relax and soak up the sun.

Gorgeous!!! Very nicely laid out and maintained. Take your time and enjoy everything there is to see!

We appreciate his personal involvement and willingness to take accountability. While we had challenges during the project, we're encouraged by their commitment to resolving the issues. I'll continue to update this review as we move through the process. -------------------------------------------- We hired Nelson Landscaping to improve our poolside area in Edmond, aiming for something cohesive and functional. While the crews were great, the rest of the experience left us frustrated--and stuck with a space that doesn't work. We were sold on flagstone set in decomposed granite (DCG), but in reality it's totally impractical for a pool patio. The DCG is rough on bare feet and constantly washes into the pool, staining our new concrete. Worst of all, the amount of flagstone was drastically underquoted. When I pointed this out, they came back with filler pieces, which helped visually--but it's still not functional. The area is uncomfortable and not practical for furniture or barefoot traffic, which was the entire point of the project. Communication was poor. We were rarely informed when crews would show up, and a comment from the salesman ("all you women want to see what it's going to look like") when I asked for visuals was unprofessional and frustrating. A concrete crack formed within a month, which is still unaddressed a year later as no one returned my multiple calls. I even reached out to the owner whose email address is listed on the website and still only heard back from our salesman. The crews did great work--but the planning, oversight, and professionalism were severely lacking. If you're hiring Nelson Landscaping for pool area landscaping, flagstone patios, or outdoor design in Edmond, ask a lot of questions and don't rely on them to act like the experts. We learned the hard way.

We went back to inquire. There was only one other person in the shop. We waited patiently until she left to inquire. We were simply told, "It's not for sale" and the clerk immediately went back to her phone. We did end up buying some totally overpriced cacti. I might be back. Work on friendliness though.

It wasn't until October, when I passed through OKC with German and a friend mentioned the memorial, that I looked it up. This time, passing through again and not in a rush, I decided to visit the memorial on a Sunday. I couldn't find the parking garage mentioned on the website, so I parked across the street in the post office lot since it was Sunday (I don't think this would be okay on weekdays). When I asked a staff member about parking, she said that was fine. The memorial grounds themselves are beautiful and open to the public 24/7 for free. You can walk around the Gate of Time and the Field of Empty Chairs, which was especially moving, though the atmosphere felt quite heavy and chilling. it was decorated with the Christmas wreath, but there's definitely nothing about holidays cheer can be felt here Please note that bags larger than 14 inches are not allowed inside the museum. Museum admission is $18, and you're supposed to get free parking at a nearby garage, though directions weren't very clear. The museum starts on the second floor and tells the story of the 168 people who died in the 1995 bombing. What struck me most was how it emphasized that it was just an ordinary morning--people checking in to work before 9 a.m., unaware of what was about to happen. The museum was a bit crowded when I visited, likely because it was Sunday, and some visitors brought young kids who were running around, which felt a little distracting given the nature of the space. I don't think many people still actively think about this event, but if you ever find yourself in Oklahoma City, I do think it's worth visiting. It's a powerful and sobering experience.
