We came here for the 4th of July celebration 2022 and it was fantastic! Their pavilion was playing live concert band music and you could hear it everywhere. They decorate the entire park in lights and signs so it's clear where to go, and where it is not safe to be for fireworks distancing. It was not crowded where we sat & watched the fireworks. Fireworks are big & colorful & loud! We'll be back next year!

Christmas lights! Christmas lights! Beautiful display of lights!! Large crowd must be patient as it is slow viewing. Great outing for family. You can also park car and walk the grounds!

    Cute teepee and Indians!

Absolutely beautiful and free holiday lights display that you can drive-thru and also areas where you can park and get out and ride a train. Lots of stuff for little ones to do. It's the biggest and most beautiful light display that I've ever seen! This is our second year coming here and it's definitely a new holiday tradition with my family. There are 3 separate park areas to drive-thru so make sure you don't miss any of it! And they happily accept donations at the end of the drive thru lights! Merry Christmas everyone!

This park has different sections to it, with different areas you can park. There are some fountains, a pond, a lot of walking trails (some are covered by trees) and 3 playgrounds. There are areas to play horse shoe, feed ducks, picnic, go fishing, and have fun. The childrens playgrounds are decent, but could have some updating.

Ample pavilions, generally well maintained landscaping, and fun trails throughout.

The walk around the park is nice and flat and there are even distance markers so you know how far you've gone. There are several ares with many picnic tables. There are two playground areas for kids and several wide open fields. These fields would be great for getting together with friends and playing ultimate, kickball, or soccer if they were not full of stickers that will cover your socks and shoes if you walk through them. Overall, if you need a good afternoon walk or a shaded playground for the kids, I would recommend this park.

Sometimes trees are nice, but I like that this park has many open expanses for kids to run and play in a very safe space. Softball, basketball and soccer areas are here also - though I don't know much about reserving them or anything. There are a few different playground areas, and admittedly, these could use some updating, but I think there are lots of places with splash pads and new playground equipment - what Eldon Lyon provides is room, and lots of it. In a time when parents feel they can't just let their kids roam free in the neighborhoods and the creek beds of our youth, this park helps address that need. I love the two mile trail that loops around and sometimes through the entire park, the nice picnic areas, and people watching.

I was looking for a park to just relax at until I had to go back to the airport to catch my flight…read more I had just stopped at Panera Bread to get some breakfast and I just wanted to sit by the water and enjoy my sandwich and coffee. I kind of got an odd feeling as I approached this park as it's directly across from a salvage/wrecking/towing yard that has a lot of busted vehicles lining the road and then the road leading up to the lake isn't really paved and a bit rocky. It doesn't take a 4-wheel drive or anything but just know there isn't really a road. I thought the road loops around but instead, it breaks off at a Y-intersection. I went to the right part of the Y and creepily enough there was an older model SUV parked at the end of the road blocking the entire roadway. The road ended in a cul-de-sac type grassy turn around area anyway so instead of continuing onward toward the SUV, I made a 3-point turn and headed back to the intersection. The SUV that was blocking the road obviously had camped overnight and had been there for a while. It looked like someone was living inside the SUV. I ventured onto the other side of the Y intersection and there was a lone man out on the dock fishing his heart out in the windy conditions and then another car off by the port-a-potty that also looked like it was being lived in. The lake does look quite beautiful and would probably be amazing on a warmer less windy day. There are signs that you can take out certain types of boats and there appears to be plenty of room to spread out on the docks if you want to fish. I read somewhere that the lake area had recently been cleaned up as a lot of people would go here to dump trash and mattresses or take part in illegal activities. This lake/recreation area didn't give me a positive vibe and I didn't feel quite safe here but maybe the feeling can change over time.

To think someone has worked extremely hard for hours to set up these lights for our enjoyment. This year we did see some new things, the guitars that were beautiful and a blue tree that was stunning. Things may be the same , not sure, but I seem to see some I might of missed or forgot from previous years. The train is something we have never done, just too cold for me. Still cute to see running around the other lights. You will need to make sure you visit all 3 of the areas. Also it's a tradition for us to pull through the one neighborhood that is right past the main display then proceed to next area. I want to mention that they take donations! After our recent visit to Branson lights, with a price of $25.00 a car and weekdays $20.00, we should all be putting in a little extra! Times are hard for some but lights are totally worth seeing so if you can help balance it out for the families that are hurting in the pocket book. $$. Get there early to line up , like 5:30 and plan at least 1 to 2 hours. You can park and walk alittle, take pictures, listen to music and be in the most peaceful place in this Covid time of our lives.

It has also taken us the same amount of years to figure out that it is better to tour the lights on foot after doing so last night. Make sure to check the weather forecast and wrap up accordingly. I'm so glad we went earlier than usual this year as it wasn't crowded and I managed to take some really decent pictures without worrying about other visitors waiting for their shots. The husband and I also rode the little santa express train which was $5 per person. Not having to queue up in the cold was definitely a plus. There were a handful of concession trucks selling corn dogs, fennel cakes, cotton candy, hot chocolate etc. They all looked enticing and fun. We don't eat sugar anymore so, sadly, I could only look. But, yeah, families and their kids will be happy with those treats. We'll be going back again before the displays come to a close on New Year's Eve. Although the light traffic was a nice change, the crowds truly add to the vibes of the Christmas season. Happy Christmas everyone!!
