Second, I did ZERO research or familiarization w/ the system we were learning. Yeah for preparation! ASM provides various software and programs in support of the Army. Basically the Army tells ASM what they think they want and ASM comes back w/ what they think the Army needs. No telling how big their contracts are - - but their training and professionalism was spot on. The building is beautiful, immaculate and set up to facilitate training. Our instructor, Susan, was a natural teacher. She was laid back and just went w/ the flow of the experience in the group. I am thankful I got to attend this training! Thankful that some contractors (actually there are many) truly do an outstanding job in support of the Army and DoD.

I came here without an appointment to have my name changed due to marriage. I had called them that…read moresame day, and they confirmed I could come in without an appointment. I arrived 15 minutes before they were supposed to close for the day, and everyone was packing up to leave early! The officers graciously let me in and did my name change in all of 60 seconds. I was impressed at how simple and quick it was, I only needed my global entry card and new passport. I highly recommend this route if you don't need to renew and want to make a simple change.

As contrast 90% of the time when I worked in Human and Social Services for almost 50 years both government and nonprofit, I found my employer was very adherent to OSHA Guidelines! If you are not familiar with your rights to work in a safe healthy environment (when you are not working at home) then I advise you to learn! The More You Know!!

I talked with a woman named Francesca, we discussed what I saw and experienced at this motel and... No, what actually  happened, is me speaking to an answering machine  and leaving a recorded message.  Yeah, nothing fancy or amazing about this, but it might get the ball rolling if this Osha office in Virginia Beach isn't shut down, because of The Coronavirus Outbreak.  Nevertheless,  this is just round one of getting in contact with them. When I first head of Osha, i was lead to believe these people were the scariest inspectors you don't want showing up at your business.  If they do show up, you might have already messed up royally.  This is what I heard when I was getting training as a pool operator with Century Pool Management.  Months later I was working at a pool when a lady for Osha walked in. I realized who she was, but wasn't nervous. Apparently someone was highly pissed off at what was going on at the pool with another lifeguard and called Osha.   The Osha lady had inspected what the complaint was and found nothing wrong. She did find something else wrong and informed me about it. I got the issue taken care the next day. Up until now, this is was my only contact experience with Osha, but now it will be my second.

Then it heads out to Shady Grove metro... on the weekends it starts at 4am... if you miss that.. the next one is 8am, 9am, 10am etc. Its about an hour ride to BWI airport. From BWI to Shady Grove on the weekends first trip is 10am, 1pm 2pm 3pm etc.. Last bus leaves 10pm.... From my experience its important to get their at least 15 minutes. Some drivers are not predictable but all are courteous and friendly. Its still $6 They also have stops at Arundel Mills/ Maryland live... Maybe one day they'll increase their frequency.

I visited Patapsco Female Institute Historic Park with my husband and some of his family that were…read morein town for a visit. It was an interesting visit! The Patapsco Female Institute is a former girls' boarding school, which opened in 1837 and closed in 1891. After the school closed, the property was converted to and used as a summer hotel, a private home, a hospital during WWI, and theater. After it was abandoned and ignored for a period of time, the structure fell to ruins. The decision was made to stabilize the ruins, and that's what you'll see when you visit. The area is now a historic park, but pay attention to the park's hours. The ruins are gated and are only accessible when employees/docents are there. There's a small parking area as well as some portable toilets. But the ruins are what you'll be there to see and the staff were very helpful to understand the context of the ruins. The property has an interesting history, and I think it's worth a visit if you're interested in this little piece of Maryland history.
