When I told the lady that I was not made aware of that fact when I made the reservation, nor was I given a cancellation policy in writing, nor is that information on their website, she told me that "she didn't believe me because they tell everyone that the deposit is non-refundable when they make the reservations." Its first appearance as a beverage was approximately 10,000 years ago. Mead has deep historical roots, and it was the drink of choice for many ancient civilizations. We were excited when we found this meadery located in Vancouver island about an hour drive from Victoria. They are open for tastings - a bonus! We have tried this brand but as it is smaller production, you cannot find all their meads at the store. We had 5 tasters when we arrived as the owner explains each one. There is even a cizer which is honey cider. The place is located in a farm with sheep and great views, definitely worth checking out if visiting the island.
