I've gone a few times for the long 3 hour sessions and had an absolute blast getting things done (if you sit still, the curious cats will approach you and sit in your lap while you work!) Food is all prepackaged and ordered in bottles in addition to the entry for a 45 minute stay. Place is lovely and well-lit and a great way to get some time with some adorable kitties!

They were honest about any issues they had observed with the dogs & had temperament tested them, I really appreciated that. Coming into the shelter at an older age and with several (treatable) medical conditions, some shelters would have chosen to put the two old gals I recently adopted down, I am forever grateful Skagit did not. The front desk…read morestaff was really friendly and helpful -- they took their time and pointed me toward some sweet dogs that seemed like a good match. While I was there, I noticed a little pug and asked about her. They told me she wasn't available for adoption. I could see why -- her butt was prolapsed and there was liquid poop and blood all over her kennel. She was panting, whining, and frantically trying to get out. It was really upsetting to see. I spoke with the manager, who told me not to worry, that they had it under control and the dog was fine. I left feeling terrible. I came back a few days later and the poor pug was still in the same condition -- prolapse, bloody diarrhea, the whole thing. She still looked miserable. I'm really concerned that they don't have the animals' best interest at heart. A prolapsed rectum is painful, and there was clearly blood coming from her. I just don't understand how a person could look at that and think it's okay to leave her like that. This experience has me seriously questioning the level of care the animals are getting. I wanted to support the shelter, but I left feeling heartbroken and worried. I'm still looking to adopt a dog, but after this experience I don't feel confident adopting from here.

We brought our 1 year old, freshly rescued husky mix here for a deshedding bath and overall groom…read morein June. When we came to pick her up, Sandy was so proud saying she got her whole stuck undercoat off. Over the next several weeks I spent a lot of time brushing that undercoat off myself. Im sure she did get some off, but to be so confident to proclaim she got it all off, was a bit bold. She also did not trim her butt fluff or her tail. Our dog was found as a stray so her fur was pretty rough. We spent over $100 for her to not be washed deeply/ correctly and for her straggly fur to not be groomed. Our dog also was shedding gobs of fur for the last 3 months, Im talking clumps of that undercoat and normal fur. Which shouldn't be happening after a proper deshedding bath. She got a good, proper groom at Canine Divine. She isn't shedding hardly at all now and her fur feels great. Same price, polar opposite experience.

They performed a surgery, after my dog was behaving very unusual and then she started bleeding blood clot. Trying to get information in a critical time at that moment was impossible. They are incapable of actually listening and just blew me off saying the inssition looked ok, when I already new this a specificly told them to pass that along. So as it stands right now, my dog is bleeding blood clots in her urine, and there resolution is the inssition spot is ok. Maybe people that have given 5 stars are people that have not had anything going wrong, I don't know and I'm happy for them. But my experience is when something did happen they were not here at all for the dog and offered no help or advise or anything. They just didn't care

That said, our experience was deeply concerning. Our dog has since been diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia and elbow issues, which has been heartbreaking to navigate. I am not saying that is puget sounds direct reflection but it means something .. When we arrived at the home, we were invited inside, but the conditions were extremely dirty. The dog was not present when we arrived, and we waited approximately 40 minutes for the owner's daughter to bring him. He was handed to us and carried rather than allowed to walk. Once we left and placed him on the ground, it was clear he struggled significantly--at four months old, it appeared as though he had little to no experience walking. His hindquarters were completely shaved while the rest of his body was not, which raised immediate concern. It appeared he may have been sitting in his own waste and not regularly cleaned. He was also dyed yellow; our veterinarian later informed us that Lime Sulfur Dip is commonly used to treat conditions such as ringworm. His ears were blackened from what appeared to be long-term lack of cleaning. During the long drive home, we had to roll the windows down in the middle of winter due to the strong odor. The medical records we were provided were handwritten on paper and barely legible, with vaccinations written in by hand and explained as being difficult to read because the "ink was out." While the owner was kind, she appeared to have significant mobility challenges and was unable to walk down the stairs, which raised concerns about her ability to safely and adequately manage multiple dogs. I regret not writing this review sooner, but I felt it was important to share our experience. I truly hope that other dogs were not treated similarly and that they are all healthy and well cared for.
