I checked out Whatcha Cravin at a food truck festival this past weekend. They don't have a huge menu but they do have loaded fries which is the king of food truck items in my book. They also have reasonable prices which is nice as some food trucks hike things up a little too much. Their loaded fries come with cheese, green onions, and their special sauce with your choice of chicken tenders of BBQ pulled pork. I went with the pulled pork. The menu states that the loaded fries come with your choice of pulled pork or chicken tenders for $8. When I checked out, I was charged $9. When I asked about this, I was told that only the tenders option is $8. This is not what the menu states. I didn't start a fight about this as it was only $1 but their menu should be changed to reflect correct prices. It's not fair to do this. Initial stumble aside, the fries hit the spot! A generous portion. The melty cheese stretches and adds to every bite. Their special sauce had a kick to it and was delicious. The fries were above average. Yum yum! Really hit the spot today. This truck was at our building for our Food Truck Friday. As usual, buddy and I split food. We had the fish tacos and the load fries with pork. Great portion sizes, really really good! Tacos were nice and crispy, didn't have that "fishy" smell you worry about, and the cabbage and cilantro paired nicely with the sauce - sauce provided a needed spice and these were just yum! Fries were good, too. They were topped well and didn't have too much fries with little topping, it was well balanced. Will come back again, for sure! read more

Not a bad food truck at all, especially when it's parked in the parking lot of a brewery that doesn't serve food, with lots of inebriated patrons ready to make bad, unhealthy food choices! They kind of had a captive audience here, which was VERY smart on their part. Not gonna hate! We did enjoy the food for the most part though! We ordered the Grilled Cheese Pulled Pork Sandwich, yes, you heard me right, pulled pork with BBQ sauce inside of a grilled cheese sandwich!! Lots of flavors going on here: the pork was very tender and had a good flavor, the grilled cheese was well done also. But I wish they wouldn't drizzle BBQ sauce ALL over the entire sandwich. While it looked very pretty, it made an already messy sandwich, even messier!! You are guaranteed to need a bath, simply from the amount of BBQ sauce stuck to your fingers, gained from the simple task of putting food to mouth. We also ordered the Marconi and Cheese. I did enjoy this as it had a very unique flavor. Typically macaroni and cheese can be so generic, but not here. You get a pretty good serving of Rotini Noodles, covered in a thin cheese sauce and then topped with green onion and a sprinkle of Tony Chachere's. I liked the unique flavor, but I did think it needed a little bit more cheese flavoring and maybe a little thicker sauce. Not too bad though! Then, here is where I fell into "carb"-loading, comfort-food heaven, when I tasted those Loaded Fries with pulled pork BBQ on top! These are a must! If you are going to make bad food decisions for the day, might as well go all out and order these fries that are topped with a liquid cheese, pulled pork and drizzled bbq sauce. This review is only based on what I are,I had the Season Loaded fries and I will say very good. I just needed a little more BBQ sauce. The fries had cheese Bbq , scallions and pulled pork. The pulled pork had a good flavor and the bbq sauce not a vinegar base taste. It was feeling so I can't imaging ordering something else. Tried this food truck a couple of times. The first time was not a great experience. My bf and I ordered 2 ribeye wraps, I wanted to try their mac and cheese but they ran out. It took 30 mins+ to get our meals. There were other customers waiting as well. The ribeye wrap was not good, the meat was overcooked and dry. We later found out they just lost their cook so we gave them a pass. The second time we ordered the grilled mac and cheese sandwich, ribeye wrap again and loaded fries. This time around, the wrap was better. Their fries were also good. The grilled mac and cheese sandwich wasn't what I expected, the bread was soft even though it looks grilled and their mac and cheese tasted like Velveeta mac and cheese. I don't know why on earth this food truck only has 2.5 stars! What is wrong with you people?! I had the fish tacos - fresh, fried white fish, perfectly seasoned in what tasted like a creole seasoning, not too spicy though, with a cabbage slaw on top and the most amazing jalapeño creole tarter sauce! My friend, who also got the fish tacos, ordered extra sauce, which I was going to pass on because I'm not the biggest fan of tarter sauce, but the owner/operator convinced me to get some extra sauce by saying "the sauce is so good, people want to drink it". Boy, was he right. That sauce was the bomb. I added some siracha and lemon on top of the taco, not to add flavor, but just because I love my fish tacos with siracha and lemon, but this would have been good without any of that on it. I can't say enough how amazing it was! Hands down, best fish tacos I've had! Besides the food, the customer service given by the owner/operator, Manny, was top notch. He greeted everyone right away as they started to approach the truck, and helped customers decide on what they should order. I will be trying this food truck out again on Monday, something different, and will be sure to write another review! This place needs more than just 2.5 stars! read more

At first I was a little hesitant to spend $11 on a pulled pork sandwich, but after tasting this, next time won't take me as long to purchase it. Our Office building has Food Truck Tuesdays and this one was showcased today. I ordered the Whatcha Cravin Burger (hamburger loaded with a fried egg, onion rings and all the fixins). Service: Wait time was too long. Everyone was complaining. They started taking orders at 11am and I was the second person to put in an order, so there was literally only one person ahead of me and he ordered loaded fries. So it should not have taken long for them to complete my order. Also, the order taker was not a people person, very impersonal and stand offish. Food: The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because the Burger was delicious! The bread was divine, buttered and grilled to perfection. The egg was really good. The meat was cooked medium rare, I like my burgers medium well. So I couldn't eat the center of my burger, I only ate around the edge..... Also the onion ring could have been cooked longer. And even with those issues the burger was still phenomenal, so you know its good! But my fries were lukewarm!!!! I mean why did I have to wait so long for my food when the fries were precooked, the burger only stayed on the grill a hot second and the onion rings were soft.... Now that I am writing this I really want to take it down to 2 stars. But I can't because the burger is that good. Terrible customer service, this is not a food service related review. I'm sure the food is as great as everyone raves about, not that we would know. Therefore, I would highly NOT recommend trying to book them for an event. It has been h-e-l-l trying to get ANY useful correspondence through the "event planner." After reading all the wonderful reviews and checking to see IF they provide wedding services, we have tried for weeks to book them for a wedding because we love the idea of American-style food + food truck. We have had to pry information out, question after question with minuscule responses back, rather than them providing any sort of quote (other than a list of the food they provide) with a list of what's included (drinks? Plates? etc.) Once we told them we'd like to book and please send a contract/full price quote etc., we have lost all communication from them. We've obviously decided to go with another vendor now since we didn't want to risk this quality of service if their communication is any indication of how the wedding service would be day of. read more

The food truck came to our apartment complex earlier this week and we decided to try it out. We scoped it out on Yelp before hand to see what we were getting into and it was about the same in person. Besides for the prices, everything had increased at least $1-$2 from what was on their Yelp pictures. We got the Cravin burger, fish tacos and loaded fries. The burger reminded me of a Steak N Shake burger (I'd prefer Steak N Shake) but way pricier. The fish tacos were ok, kinda bland so I added hot sauce and a dash of remoulade sauce from my fridge to mine. The loaded fries were prolly the best part of the meal but weren't worth the $8. Listen to me when I tell you the taste was extraordinary! The guy at the truck was really cool and made you feel as a valued customer. Usually these food truck vendors are such in a hurry that they'll usually just grunt at you, as they through your food on the counter for you. Not here. Not with this truck. Disappointed in my overall experience. Was looking forward to the fish tacos but they ran out of fish by the time I was up to order. Ended up going with the burger, which looked great, but I didn't receive onion rings as noted on the menu. What I found most odd was I was charged $13 while the person behind me was charged $10 for the exact same item (we ate together so I confirmed our orders were exactly the same). Finally, I asked to have my burger cut in half and was told no. No "sorry, too busy" or "sorry, we don't do that", just plain no. I must say the burger was good, but given the overall experience I'll avoid Watcha Cravin in the future. read more
