It's too expensive for one and the buns are always so cold they don't taste fresh other than that it is ok

During the week I had to go to Whataburger twice. First time, hesitant, staff. Very friendly, young lady behind the counter. Funny, smart, awesome. Ordered, food was good. Second time I went to Whataburger, ordered the double burger. It was delicious, was very impressed, again. The staff was awesome. Even though it was busy. Got my order in less than 6 minutes, way faster than some other chains. Feel welcomed, cashier talk to me, nice conversation. Got my food again. The onions on the sandwich that I ordered, were delicious. Sauteed perfectly, just the perfect amount of pepper. I will be returning constantly now. Clyde, Texas Whataburger, sold me. Do I even have to give one star? Seriously awful. Not even sure where to begin. Here are the highlights: 1. Took 22 minutes from currency exchange to food. Not counting the 8-10 minutes standing in a line 3 people deep to order. 2. Chicken on the sandwich was more like jerky than chicken. 3. Fries not fully cooked. 4. Out of sweet tea (in Texas... seriously?!?!) 5. Whataburger overcooked and missing cheese (which was an up charge) 6. Contents of bags were mixed up. 7. Manager had an employee leave for lunch and never return, on top of that, refused to let an employee clock in 1 minute and 3 seconds early. As a customer, why do I know that? 8. At least 3 refunds were issued for orders taking too long or orders were wrong. 9. When exiting, I tried to be thoughtful and warn a customer it may take 20ish minutes to get food, she responded she's already been waiting for 40. 10. Pictures work a thousand words. Ordered via app... Showed up and informed there was no electricity and my order was not available. What's not to love about Whataburger and that its a Texans favorite! Whataburger offers a wide variety of burgers, appetizers, and shakes. They have a simple concept as to where you go order your deliciously cooked to order food from the cashier and get your drink cup head over to the fountain drink selection and get that Dr Pepper because I know you will if your "True to Texas". Next sit at your desired table and, make sure you place your number card at your table the cashier gave to you and sit back and relax and, goodness will come. Whataburger always whips up great quality food at a fast food level! The burgers always come grilled and charred to perfection with a nice juicy patty with oozing juices coming from the meat. The cheese of course makes the burger even more succulent but the star of the show are the house condiments they use on majority of the burgers. Those ingredients make up what Whataburger is today and they are chopped white onions, irregular chopped lettuce, sliced dill pickles and of course yellow mustard. The tomatoes are always sliced perfectly and the bun is as good as it gets delivering a nice snap back when biting in. One of my fan favorites of the place is they are no where near as shady with burger condiments such as ketchup, ranch and even spicy ketchup which is a must try! The staff will personally come to your table with a tray fully loaded with condiments when hand delivering your order and ask what you would like! Overall Great place great good and great service at this location. Looking forward to come back for the breakfast and getting the taquitos or even the chicken strips and trying that Dr Pepper Shake! read more

I usually really love Whataburger. I was wanting some fries on my road trip to Dallas, so my husband stopped here since it was next to the Exxon we were putting gas at. Do yourself a favor and skip this Whataburger. I would give it no stars if I could. The fries were extremely cold, over cooked, and my ice tea had no ice- a complete waste of money. read more

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Trying to get some FAST food on road trip & waited over 40 minutes before finally giving up and ditching the line. You'd think hey they were just busy right? HA FIVE cars in front of us, and when there was only one car separating us from the window it was 20 minutes and counting.. we would've left after a 20-minute standstill but we unfortunately were boxed in and forced to continue forward... I've visited this location for years and it's been average at best, small town employee pool is fairly small. Earlier this year I went in on trip to my farm from DFW. Stopped in ordered food it came in a reasonable amount of time. i decided I wanted a Dr. Pepper shake to finish the drive I walked to the counter and stood patiently for 10 minutes no one else was at the counter only three customers in store customers eating with heads down a young lady at front counter wearing a mask and ear muffs passed me several times doing busy work straightening straws cups etc.I left the store and got in my truck but changed my mind determined to get a shake. I'm 64 years old and generally polite after 7 minute's and multiple excuse me could you help me. i said Am I Invisible? Which brought a howl from this young lady and every Employee in the store to the front counter I asked where the manager was at on of the crowd of 7-8 announced I am and informed me I couldn't talk to ------ that way in a loud voice I never raised my voice. Ever during this exchange I asked this person where have y'all been leaving ------ alone this rant means nothing I just want to let you know last time I'll spend $$$ at this location. read more

Tuesday 11/23, gave this dump another try and was quickly reminded how poorly ran this place is. Took 39 minutes to get a # 1. Saw 7 people ask for refunds while I waited. Manager helping with refunds screamed at a customer walking in the door that it would be 30+ minutes before their order was ready...they obviously turned around and left. Awful service. Definitely do not recommend coming here. The workers are extremely rude and disrespectful. It is opened 24 hours but they are locking everyone out from coming in and locked the people still in the lobby in. There was people waiting on a single hash brown for over 2 hours. I travel from WTX to ETX often. I've stopped at this Whataburger several times, as it's convenient to I-20. The drive thru has always been a bit slow, but today took the cake. When I ordered there was one car ahead of me and the parking lot was not full (not super busy) I ordered a Whataburger Jr, no veggies with Mayo, cheese, bacon with fries and a drink. I waited AT THE WINDOW for 20 minutes for this order. The cheese wasn't melted, meat was cold. Horrible meal, won't stop here again. read more

Had to stop and get my Whataburger fix as I usually do at least twice a week! It's also plus to find a Whataburger with truck parking like this one in Clyde. This location also offers the Green Chile burger and it was so good. Not sure why they only serve them at certain locations but they need to put them on the menus in Dallas I know that. Ok, this was the first time I had been to this particular Whataburger location, maybe other times it is great. On this occasion they were terrible.... We pulled off of the interstate for a quick bite while traveling. There were only four cars in the drive through, so we got in line. We were still in that line 57 minutes later. ALMOST AN HOUR for FAST Food!!!!!!. After sitting at the pick up window for almost fifteen minutes, we knocked to get someone's attention and asked what was going on. He mumbled something incomprehensible and shut the window. So, I went inside the restaurant. There was plenty of employees, but none of them seemed to know what was happening so I asked to speak to a manager. She would not come and talk to me. Our food was finally ready and we had lost an hour of travel time so I left. Each locations manager is the face of that location while they are on duty, there is no excuse for not speaking to a customer who asks to speak to them, especially if there is a problem. I will likely skip this particular Whataburger next time through. read more

There is very little that is done correctly at this Whataburger location. Don't waste your time. Head quickly to Abilene. Disappointing! 10:34 a.m. I ordered the avocado bacon burger meal. I expected a fresh hot burger and fries, but that's not what I got. The burger was maybe lukewarm, not even warm enough to melt the cheese. I tried eating it, but became concerned that at that temperature bacteria thrives and I wasn't willing to chance getting sick. I love me some Whataburger! You can't go wrong with a burger, fries, and drink for about $9. I'm a fanatic for the green chili double or the Monterrey Melt. Both are double meat goodness! Hot crispy fries and their spicy ketchup are a must. Friendly employees and a clean business make this a good place to stop on I 20. And their jalapeño breakfast biscuits are good too! read more

Wouldn't recommend this place at all If I could rate this place zero stars I'd definitely do that. I had never been in a drive thru lune for over an hour. The worst part was that I couldn't get out of the line because I was boxed in by other cars front and back. I called them to ask if they'd usually take over an hour to serve ppl in the drive thru line and they out flat said "yes". My husband had stopped there a week before my bad experience and said he had the same issue. We thought it was a thing of the days and/or times that caused this issue prior... but now that I see all the bad reviews I realize it's been going on since at least a year ago. ‍ If you are in a rush ... This Whataburger is right off of I-20. Chances are that a large number of consumers are also looking for a bathroom stop in addition to food. I would think that the bathrooms should be nice given their market clientele. However- the bathrooms are very outdated, one women's stall did not have a working lock, and the other didn't flush well. The food was fine and they got our order out correctly and timely. The three stars is really due to the outdated bathrooms. read more

Placed a curbside order. Gave location extra time because they never get the food out in the time the app says they will. Sat at curbside for 10 minutes. Finally walked inside to see 4 employees standing behind the register and our food sitting in front of them. Not one of them was going to bring it out to us. I hate going here since the great manager left several years ago. This place has been unable to provide decent service since. So recap. Always has fast service and the staff is friendly. Food is always good. So many good options to choose from. The patty melt is on of my favorites. I live in Abilene and this is one of the best Whataburger restaurants around and there are a few in Abilene. read more

This whataburger changed and its a mess. it will take 40 minutes to get one meal. You never get your order correctly. Your food will be cold. Customer service is awful. We paid $33 and received our order, drinks couldn't be drank due to being only carbonation, cold food, no sauces that we asked for, and none of it prepared properly. This repeatedly happens at this location and the employees and manager are careless. It is always so disappointing. Thanks a lot Chicago. read more
