I never thought I would call out a business publicly, but I am definitely calling out Wexner Heritage Village. My mom was there from November 14th, 2023 to March 20th, 2024. Loooong story short, if that place was the last rehab facility on earth, I would NEVER send her back there. Within the first 100 days there she was basically laying in her bed, maybe once or twice or a week they would take her to the "gym" for PT, which was about 10 minutes long. Other than that her "physical therapy" consisted of her sitting in a freaking wheelchair for hours on end. After her 100 days that Medicare paid for, they decided that she wasn't ready to go home. And I agreed. So 20 days and almost $8,000.00 later that she paid, she is no better off than she was. Out of 120 days, she had occupational therapy ONE TIME!!! ONE!!! Her PT was still inconsistent and a lot of that staff needs a massive attitude adjustment. I have never met more condensendig group of people who act like doing their job is an inconvenience. Melinda in the business office basically tried to strongarm my mom into signing Medicaid papers, which she would lose access to all her money & assets, except $50 month. She literally just gave us the papers and said look them over, sign them and we can keep going. Carrie, the social worker, had a phone meeting with me when my mom first was admitted and was promising me that her physical therapist would get her up and walking and some dude said the occupational therapist would work on her cognitive skills. Yeah, 120 days there and my mom still can't stand up on her own. And when I called Carrie to initiate the discharge she actually had the nerve to get an attitude with me because she didn't know my mom was leaving. Nice to see that the offices keep each other updated. I literally went off on one of the aides and almost had her crying because of the treatment my mom received.
In conclusion, if you want your loved ones to be seen as a human being and not dollar signs, avoid the place like the plague. read more
