Clean and well stocked! Stopped for a restroom break and decided to get some fruit kolaches from the place adjacent to the gas station. Also got some gas station road snacks & fountain soda. Filled up my gas tank so I wouldn't have to stop later on down the road. Noticed their pump prices were about fifty cents higher than most - $4.69 (passed a ton pace not far from there that was $4.09). I guess you pay for convenience here - it's located right off the highway. read more

3.5/5 - This is probably your better than average rest stop. It's pretty conveniently located about halfway between Austin and Houston. It's no Bucee's, Love's or Pilot but it's consistently got a fairly clean restroom and your typical set of options for snacks/refreshments. A recent installment is a new bakery that also has plenty of breakfast options for your traveling needs or a treat for a sweet tooth. The attending staff at the counter at the register was pretty helpful with directions. Gas is pretty expensive though and you'd probably be better off filling up your tank elsewhere. read more

I've stopped here before and bought gas and never noticed it this much higher but when they charge $3.05 a gallon for regular unleaded and can get it down the street for forty cents a gallon cheaper I'm done. My fault for not paying attention and putting my card in before noticing. I did buy two gallons and went down the road. Sad thing is there are several more people just pumping away. I guess if they don't mind that's their prerogative. All I know that would cost twelve bucks more to my fill up read more

Never thought I would review a gas station/ convenience store. But this has to be shared. The trash cans out front were overflowing and piled on the ground around them, large puddle of something right in front of the bathrooms, every stall in the ladies restroom was a wreck with trash cans overflowing, toilet paper all over the floor and even a broken alcohol bottle. Thank goodness there was sanitizer so I could at least wipe down the toilet seat. If I hadn't needed to desperately use the restroom I would have went elsewhere! My husband did say the men's room was not bad. The manager and/or owner should be ashamed of the condition of this business and I hope this post makes it to them. read more

Very high gas prices Exxon and Shell known as Westwood travel and something must be done. Most of the costumer are traveling and this is is easy spot to stop. They don't know there are plenty of other nice gas stations with lower prices 5 miles away traveling east and west. This has been going on for decades and state of Texas will not do anything on their price gouging. read more

The Westwood gas stations in Brenham Texas Excon and Dhell off of hwy 290 has some of the highest gas prices. They are general 50 higher per gallon than other stations. They have been getting away this for decades. The people who live in Brenham TX do not purchase gas at the 2 locations. It's kinda of sad especially with the high gas prices we have today. Don't know why the State of Texas won't do anything to price gouging. read more

I made a pit stop here earlier this evening on my way home from Sherwood Forest Faire (I've been before, so check out my review if you're curious). I had my three charges with me, so pit stops are definitely different when I'm on nanny duty! The staff was really helpful and friendly, and didn't seem to mind that "my" kiddos are all in the "I must touch EVERYTHING" phase. I actually had a very pleasant and interesting conversation with a couple of the clerks on duty. All of the friendly faces were a refreshing break from all of the cranky-pants people I seem to encounter lately. Maybe it's just small-town hospitality; whatever it is, I'll take it! The store itself was quite clean--even at 8pm when I stopped in, and the bathrooms were also in good condition--that's important, I was so worried about that. It's actually one of those combo stores--there's a McDonald's attached on one side, and a Quizno's on the other. Add that to the convenience store's decent selection of juices, sports drinks, soft drinks and even protein shakes in their coolers, the snacks offered on the shelves, and even the fresh fruit offered at the counter, there's something for everyone if you're feeling a rumbly in your tumbly. I never thought I'd give a convenience store such a great rating (well, maybe the Bucee's in Luling--that place really does have fabulous restrooms), but this one definitely earned it in my book. read more
