The math teacher and the IB coordinator resigned last March, and as of December, no permanent replacements have been appointed. The teacher currently covering these responsibilities reportedly has no prior IB experience. Assigning teachers without confirmed IB background to senior-level classes raises serious concerns about the quality and continuity of instruction. The chemistry teacher taught online for half a year because the school was unable to secure a visa. Another teacher was hired in the middle of the year; however, the school has not provided any information regarding her IB experience or certification. This lack of transparency makes it difficult for parents to assess whether IB standards are being met. The school's salary and benefits package appears to be uncompetitive within the local market, which may explain the hiring challenges. At the same time, the school continues to allocate funds to cosmetic updates such as repainting facilities and redesigning the website through third-party contractors. This raises reasonable questions about budget priorities. Overall, student academic outcomes do not appear to be the school's primary focus. Additionally, it is publicly known that the director's wife works in UX design; beyond this, the rationale for the recent urgency to redesign the school's website remains unclear.

Imagine a world where in highschool the honors class is the entire highschool, 9th graders present the College Board "AP French" exam and every single 9th grader gets a solid 5 (max AP grade). Imagine a place where AP courses and IB (International Baccalaureate) or FB (French Baccalaureate) diplomas are not mutually exclusive and, 1370 SAT and 30 ACT scores are the average. Sounds like a familiar place? If it does not then you should consider DIS for your kids.

We took them out until we could figure out what was going on. When we were ready to have them go back our spots had been filled. I did a search of the area and stumbled upon Happy Tree. Ms. Danielle was extremely responsive and we had a brief phone call before we toured the school. During the phone call with Ms. Danielle it just felt right. When we toured, I knew it was right. When they were enrolled, they had just turned two and within weeks I could see a huge difference in their growth and development. They are now 4.5 and came home one day and recited all the presidents! They are writing and spelling their names, adding and subtracting and much, much more. It's extremely bittersweet that they are moving on and we will very much miss Happy Tree and all they've done to prepare them for their future education.

He became so comfortable with the teachers in his class that he would specifically look for them when he walked in the building. They are so loving and caring. I had some apprehension because my son has a hearing aide that needs to be removed for naps and water activities. It is also extremely difficult to get him to keep it in and for other students not to yank at it. They took the time to learn how to place and remove the device and also helped him keep up with it. As he moved up in classes, he became just as fond of the new teachers as the old and they encouraged some independent learning. They also got him to eat vegetables almost everyday which is impossible at home. We wouldn't have believed it if we didn't see it with our own eyes. Another great thing about the facility is you can pop in on your child any day or any time. They have an open door policy for parents and it makes you feel at ease when they are willing to be so open. We moved and had to change child care. It was a difficult decision to make because our son enjoyed his classmates and teachers so much.

He was a handful due to the lack of schedule during the pandemic when we were sitting in the house for days and days but once he was able to return to Bent Tree I saw a significant change in him and his behavior after the first week back to school! This is definitely a credit to his wonderful and patient teachers who love their job and the children enough to take the time to explain things to them. The class sizes are small so the teachers aren't overwhelmed and each student gets the attention and care they individually need. Everyday they do SEVERAL art projects, practice writing, reading, and math and they even have 2 recess times a day so the kids can get all of that bottled energy out! I can't say enough good things about this school, I am only sad that he can't stay here forever. Thank you Ms.Nikki, Ms. Chambers, and Ms.Jackson for being the best first teachers we could have ever asked for! I should also mention that this is a wonderfully inclusive school with many people of different ethnic backgrounds working and attending school there. This was import to us because we want our son to grow up knowing that people may look different or the same as you and that's okay! Growing up in this school will definitely give your child a positive world view!

Instead of meeting this information with some grace and understanding about what WE are going through, trying to get our son trained; the staff responded with, "Oh, a FIVE year old who's not potty trained? Ummm..." This is now seared into my wife's memory and left her in tears. She is trying her best, WE are trying our best, and this staff offered not support but derision. I am glad the staff showed their true colors so I didn't send my son here; where he would be judged and likely treated as less than.

These wounds are often not treated properly, and there have been multiple times where no incident report was filed -- and neither my husband nor I were informed by staff. The assistant director, Vanessa Ortiz, has extremely poor communication skills. It often takes more than a full school day to get a response to emails about serious issues like injuries. When we've tried to address concerns in person, we're met with excuses, not answers -- and certainly no sense of urgency. Also, if you have an issue and ask for the teacher's names (since we don't know their names due to so much turn over), don't expect to get them without the director reaching higher above her and then telling you to reach out to the area or regional director :) Shockingly, some teachers have even stepped in during conversations with other staff and *yelled* at us while trying to defend one another. The stories we're told rarely add up, and it feels like there's a serious lack of transparency and accountability. Supervision in the classrooms is clearly lacking, and poor communication seems to be used as a cover-up rather than a fix. There has also been an alarming amount of turnover among staff and students in just the last two months alone. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Margie, Mrs. Wanda, and Ms. Jasmine. These amazing ladies are the only reason we're waiting until summer to pull our son. We truly appreciate the love and care you show our baby -- thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
