It's a newer building and is absolutely gorgeous - fireplaces in almost all common areas, a library, activity rooms in case you want to work on crafts or puzzles that take up a little space, etc. The one and only glitch is that there is not enough underground parking to cover all the apartments so, even though it's listed as one of the amenities, you may not get to use it. My husband is beside himself! We're on a waiting list and hope to get a spot before next winter.

Weis Builders files taxes for Garland Commons apartments under Maple Commons, so in court if you look for cases against Weis, you will not find them due to filing taxes under other names. Look elsewhere for a better quality apartment home.

While I understand others might have a different experience at this apartment complex, I do want to…read moregive an honest review- perhaps one of the only reviews I've ever taken the time for. As a young single woman, I always felt safe here (at least from people). So there is that. However, I was on a ground level apartment, and I had two windows that I could never lock myself. I did bring this up with management, but they sent two maintenance men to force it shut and lock it. I could never do this myself. After a few times, I stopped asking and put a board up to feel more security, but I still wanted fresh air from time to time. Outside of that, my one-star review is primarily for the following two-reasons: 1. Mold 2. Dust Mold: On three separate occasions, I had mold in my ceiling and they had to take a chunk out of the ceiling to patch it up. These were caused by pipes bursting or a washing machine leaking. Twice was in the bathroom, and once in the 2nd bedroom. Pipes appear to be bursting all over this building as you walk through the hallways, you can see some odd-colored patches on the ceiling and tacks holding up the wall paper. I came home from a vacation once and found my closet was moist and water dripping down the walls. On another occasion in the same bedroom closet, I noticed that the carpet was soaked again and I could hear water running behind the walls. They were very slow to fix the mold in bathroom, even though I called and messaged multiple times and was concerned for my health. The first time I experienced the issue, I was even corrected by the office that it wasn't mold, it was mildew (she said this without coming to look first). Regardless, it needed to be fixed. I saw a range of colors from pink to tan to black to green growing on my ceiling. During this period, my hairline began to recede. While I can't really know if the mold had anything to do with it, I wouldn't be surprised. While hair loss has never been a problem for women in my family, I went to the doctor to confirmed the hair loss. Fortunately, now that I've moved out, it appears to be filling back in. I was so worried it was just me and it would never come back! Also, I've never lived anywhere that was dustier in my life. Dust would accumulate after just one week like the item had been abandoned for two years- even a can of soup that I bought the week prior! For some of my clothing that I was not wearing often (like my nice suits), they were lined with dust on the shoulders. I had to rinse out my Tupperware each time I used it because it would have lines of dust. When I moved out, I washed all my clothing since they all had this gritting dusty feel to it. I do not think this is healthy, and air flow is very poor during the winter months. I'm not sure it's good to breath that in all the time. There is definitely more I could say, but I feel this is enough for a 1-star review. Safe from crime standpoint, but I'm not sure if it's safe for health there. After a full year, I left. They did issue me a rental credit of $100 for my troubles, which was laughably about as little as you could do. I had sent an e-mail that presented my understanding of the rent credit, but I never heard a response. I called to ask about this "rent credit" piece after I received the deposit. Her snappy response hurt after all I went through, and I was always so nice and understanding about it all when perhaps I should not have been. At least here, I can warn others.

The laundry rooms are on every level and also open 24 hours. I enjoy being able to park my car in the garage and walking to Medicine lake in the summer. During the winter months, they remove snow and tenant safety is important to the management here. I feel really safe living here and these are great apartments and a great place for families. Needless to say, there aren't many floorplans out there that fit my need. Towards the end of my search I was surprised to find The Bluestone floorplan at Stoneleigh, which fit my requirements. During my tour, I admired the design and finish of the apartment building, and then the apartments themselves. I didn't see other apartments in this price range (sub-$2,000) with crown molding, subtle wall accent color, 1000+ sq ft, and even in-unit full-size washer/dryers. However, I would have preferred a more functional breakfast bar, a bit more kitchen counter space, and a gas range in lieu of the electric stove. Stoneleigh is a large complex with over 300 apartments spread across four buildings. The main building is pet-free and hosts two fitness centers, two common areas that can be rented for the day, along with the leasing offices. Speaking of leasing, ask for Barbara when you visit, as she was a joy to work with and on top of all of the paperwork with appropriate follow-up. There is a lovely large pool outside the main building, with charcoal grills beyond in a shaded picnic area (no propane grills available). Grocery stores, a Target, Starbucks, and the like are all a 5-minute drive away. A major bicycle trail heads north to Maple Grove from this complex.

I wanted more than 4 walls. I selected a one large bedroom, with fireplace, built in desk, walk-in pantry, with storage down the hall. Top floor by the elevator with view of pool. o I listed concierge style customer service. At Stoneleigh, a team of customer care professionals are there to assist you in the way that you would receive assistance at a 5 star resort. o I listed a competent, responsive maintenance team. Stoneleigh offers world class maintenance service from an exceptional team led by Roger and Curt. I delayed buying a condo for an extra year because I didn't want to be "on my own" without these two teams. A sign of a great leader is one who won't ask his team to do anything he is not willing to do. Andrew models "leading by example." If you are looking for a short term transitional solution or a long term living solution, you will want to visit Stoneleigh.
