I lived at the Westview Commons apartments for 4 years, and would have stayed longer if I hadn't relocated for a job.
Let's start with the positives. The complex is very safe. It is a little out of the way, so normally the only people around are people who actually live there, which made me feel safer. There is a washer/dryer in every unit, which was very convenient. I don't think I can go back to using community laundry facilities! Cable is included in the rent, which was great. For the most part, everything was very quiet. I don't think I ever heard any noise coming from the two apartments next to mine. I did hear the person living above me occasionally, but I think that is just something you have to accept if you are living in an apartment.
The floorplans are huge (900 square feet for a 1 bedroom) and that really allowed me to spread out. The walk-in closets are also really large.
There were 2 instances that required emergency maintenance, and the maintenance team were able to come quickly to solve the problems. The staff is top notch.
At first glance, the apartments look to be on the expensive side for Rochester. Once you take into account the cable and washer/dryer are included, the rent isn't really that bad.
I never had the opportunity to use the pool, but it seemed nice. Maybe too many little kids running around for me to really enjoy it though.
Now, some of the negatives. The fitness room could use some help. They are working on improving it though, and have purchased a new treadmill and new flat screen TV within the last year. If you get home late, parking can be difficult to find. There is a small pond near the apartments, so during certain seasons, Canadian Geese will wander around the complex making a lot of noise. The heating bill can be high because of the high ceilings.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this apartment complex to others. read more
