On my second visit, which was three months after the initial injury, he told me to start climb "harder routes" with wrist widget on because my wrist pain was mostly gone at that time. I did what I was told, and that resulted in a second injury even worse than the first time. The recovery has been awfully slow since then; it's been almost five months now, and I can't even pull more than 10 lbs without any trouble. I did see him one more time after that because I really didn't want to do another initial assessment with a new PT. He gave me 25 mins of forearm massage, and right before the session ended, he told me to made a wrist roller and hanged 5 lbs for training. Turn out that was too much for my wrist to handle and caused instant sharp pain. I informed him via email, and then he asked me to reduce the weight to 2 lbs. I really wish this sort of trial and error could be done during my visit, not at home.

I was feeling pretty discouraged at this point after being told there wasn't much I could do unless I wanted to get a cortisone steroid shot in my tendon. Since my work prevents me from resting my hands/wrists properly, I knew healing would be a long road. After 5 treatments, I am happy to report that my tendonitis has been resolved! Kevin is a a great physiotherapist, with plenty of empathy for his patients. He used different treatments on my wrist such as shockwave, cold/hot laser, ultrasound, suction cups, electrotherapy, etc. On top of that their rates are very reasonable.

He did some massage, and we mostly worked on teaching me simple exercises to get me back in shape for hiking. I've seen him half a dozen or more times over a period of months, each time given exercises that were targeted to where I had progressed to at that time. I just told him I felt ready to go back to hiking, and he suggested three exercises I can do for "maintenance" (my term). I would happily go to him again for help with any pain or body problem. He's very professional, pleasant, and helpful. P.S. My wife has benefited from his physical therapy before I first say him, and she recommended him to me. A different physical therapist (at a different place) had given her exercises that caused her greater pain and disability. Alex gave her a new, different diagnosis and exercises, and she soon was greatly improved.

The facility is also very nice, brand new, and conveniently located. I've been seeing Krysta, and she is so on top of things. She seems to know her stuff cold, is very easy to talk to and explains things well. She is also good at communicating with your healthcare team so your doctor is aware of what's going on. The first appointment which is the assessment was invaluable for me in getting a proper diagnosis and prognosis. Now I'm on a treatment plan and we've set some goals to reach for which is always a good strategy. Oh also, another thing that is great is that when you pay, they can directly bill your insurance company which saves you paperwork. Overall, would highly recommend coming here!

It goes a little something like this: *Ayla has double…read morejointed kneecaps, isn't that funny? *Ayla decides to do vigorous exercises like swing dance and bootcamp *Ayla's knees do not approve and take great pleasure in popping out and reducing Ayla's activity to being grumpy on the couch for 6 weeks until she has had enough and starts exercising again. While not a smart pattern, this has been happening for a few years now (thanks, Ageing!) So FINALLY I sucked it up and agreed with my bootcamp instructor that yes, I should go see a physio. I'd been resisting because doctors already just tell me to put it up and ice it until I feel better, so what could a physio POSSIBLY know that's different. Fool of a Took! Sean, in his pleasant, kind, and gentle manner, has given me exercises that are already strengthening and helping my weird knees after only one week. He is clear in his demonstrations and explains why each exercise will help, and even better he doesn't tell me to rest! He believes that exercising will only help me (as long as I'm smart about it) and this makes me exceedingly happy! Sean broke down every stereotype I had, and it's been awesome since then! Sure, my knees aren't fixed yet, but they feel way better after only a week!
