Sore back?
I was walking around in pain for what seemed like weeks (it was probably months) before my wife pointed out to me it's not normal to walk around with your shoulders higher than your ears. It's funny how our aches, mutations, and transgressions slowly seep into our everyday activities to the point where we don't even know we're moving about like Igor from the Frankenstein movies--the original Universal ones. (YES, MASTER!)
Anyway, most people don't realize that a cure for these deviations is just a quick adjustment away. It doesn't get better on its own.
Enter Dr. Ken Swanston. My aforementioned wife had seen him a few times before and he cured her of her ills and aberrations. (Most of them anyway. She still talks to me when I'm trying to read but that's probably outside Dr. Swanston's scope of practice.) She recommended his services to me and I made an appointment.
Dr. Swanston's friendly, laid back, and inviting demeanor actually makes you feel okay about lying limp on the table as he moves your spine from point A to B and twists your neck 360 degrees. All those pops, snaps, and crackles that you imagine taking place in a chiropractor's really happen. Especially during the neck twisting thing.
"Wow, that's loud," I said.
"It's like in every Arnold Schwarzenegger movie," Dr. Swanston replied, referencing Schwarzenegger's propensity for breaking peoples necks in his movies.
After the adjustment was completed my body was in a crazy state of numbness for a short time but the pain and discomfort were gone. A couple of days later I was back to normal again. Or at least as close as I can get to it. It must be what Bruce Banner feels like after he's transformed back from being the Hulk.
Since then I've gone back to Westside Family Chiropractic whenever my body starts to mutate into some other anomalous form. read more
