While we see shows regularly in Detroit, we figured this was no further in the opposite direction to enjoy a production. The theater is beautiful! While my husband found the vintage seats a bit on the small side, even he was quick to say that what the theater lacked in modern amenities, it made up for in quaint charm. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it has a great, fancy, Fox Theatre feel to it. Parking was also easy, just a block or so down. It may get more crowded with other venues close by, but we had no issues when we went. Temple Theater is definitely somewhere we'd love to enjoy another show.

It feels great to go back to a place you are familiar with that you went to as a kid! Same glow in the dark looking clock I used to look at when I was 10! Thanks for sticking around Strand!

They aren't great at cleaning the floors. One thing that annoyed me was that they have signs that lie. I went in with my boyfriend to watch Obsession a while ago. We saw a sign that said "AFTER 7pm, people under 16 can't see movies without an adult. It was 2pm when we went in the theater. They told us to leave because we were under 16. Even though it was WAY before 7pm. Besides that though, their popcorn is delicious and you don't have to pay for refills. They have huge screens and the audio is really loud and clear, but not too loud. Most of the time, the workers are very nice and patient. They have really nice drink stations with so many options and you're able to get refills. I love that Emagine often brings back old movies (the Flashback Cinema). There aren't too many previews but even when there are, they're fun to watch. The theater is also just huge in general and that makes it nice.

Ticket pickup experience was good, also could've bought them in person, very easy machines and also line wasn't long. Concessions were super affordable unlike other cinemas, I got a medium popcorn for $8, the large was around 9 and was refillable I believe. There was also a bar with drinks available, and during movie saw people get delivered food or drinks so I think that's an option as well The seats in the regular theater were cushioned chairs, great viewpoint from everyseat. Sound quality was great, if not too loud which I don't mind Just a fun experience, will definitely come again

One of the few places in mid michigan that celebrates the world is astrophysics. It might be small…read morebut it is mighty, with the ability to pique young minds toward space. We saw a presentation on the planets in our solar system. Ages: two boys, 8 and 9 years old, two millennials (the parents), in their early and late 30s, and me, the grandmother. I was lucky enough to grow up in Denver where museums are ubiquitous and I made sure I did as much with my own kids as I could despite the economy doing a dive especially post 9/11. Still I understand the importance of exposing kids to interesting information, and the planetarium at Delta College did not disappoint! The show almost was a bit too long for younger kids but managed to end with a trip down the Great Wall of China that captured the kids' attention again. NOTE: people with balance issues may want to close their eyes for this one, which I am not ashamed to say I had to do for most of this part! But the kids loved the information and the theatrical presentation so Al was good! The gift shop wasn't too expensive so that too was good! I gave the boys $20 and they were able to buy a couple of things each. There was a scale where you can find your weight on all the planets in the solar system and that was also fun. Numerous photos of space and NASA journeys on the walls were amazing, and the spacesuit was neat to look at. The downside? Outside of the actual shows in the planetarium and the few items I described there wasn't a whole lot more. I'm hoping that may change in the future. I know times are tough economically but boy it would be nice for all these billionaires who are going into space like Branson, Bezos, and Musk to perhaps invest a bit of that money into finding science for kids in the US vis a vis museums around the country. It's not like they don't have the money! I might advise to bring enough money to see back to back shows, since as we were leaving there was another presentation getting ready to start that was on a different topic.
