I stopped there today (Sunday) at 3:30 to look for a Xmas gift for my wife. As I approached the entrance I noticed the front window displays were empty. There were customers and employees inside. I tried to open the door but it was already locked. They opened the door for me but as I approached the interior displays the employees began to empty those as well, I continued to try to look at what was left but the employees just kept removing everything from the cases. I couldn't believe it! It was like I wasn't even there. Xmas season they're removing everything a 1/2 hour before the advertised closing time! I found it rude and also unproductive from a business viewpoint. They should decide what the actual closing time is and not waste peoples time.

Blaine's stated they had never seen this happen, stated we would be called to preview the replacement before it was set. I was called to pick them up and simply stated we were disappointed we weren't called to preview before set. The owner's comments, "You must have left them in a hot car. (I asked how hot a car would have to be and was told to "google it"). Those earrings were filthy. You must have chipped them. If I had a Suburban and the window broke I wouldn't bring it back to the dealer! I should really charge you to reset them." Lacking professionalism. The owner/jeweler put it into an ultrasonic bath which is a bath machine for jewelry that uses high-frequency vibrations in liquid to shake dirt loose, but it can also shake stones out of older, fragile settings. So more stones fell out after doing this. I was then told to pay for reseating all three, even though only one was missing when I dropped it off. Polishing was also started without my consent. When I questioned why an ultrasonic was used on such an old piece, the owner told me I "don't know s**t" and brushed the ring off saying it was probably made in Asia. The whole experience was strange and disappointing with hidden charges, and unprofessional conduct. It is unfortunate since I had very great service with the lady previously who always helped me with my watches, but after this unpleasant experience, I will not be returning.

My mom and grandma would bring me here when I was little when they first opened back in 2005. The prices have skyrocketed and I fear they have steered away from the "local business" culture and prices. Now it feels like I'm shopping at an expensive department store. The prices are not reflective of the quality. The jewelry isn't as good as it used to be as the $14-$16 sterling silver earrings begin to tarnish after a month of wear. Many of my pieces I own have become stretched out and pilled after only a few wears (even with gentle washing/cleaning). Some of the pieces being the EXACT SAME BRANDS that are sold at Island Gypsy in Lavalette but being more affordable there. Today I went for the first time in a long time as I had a gift card and wanted to give them another shot as I so badly want to love sunshine again. But when I went to pay the girls said there wasn't enough money on my unused gift card saying there was only $13 of the $25...do not think it was malicious or intentional but I think there was a mix up due to them reusing gift cards. If you're charging this much for your products, why can't you afford to buy new gift cards or have a better system? The girls kind of just looked at me and shrugged like "sorry". After today, it makes me so sad as a local of point pleasant boro that a store I once loved for the quality and price has now become a hub specifically geared towards wealthy tourists.
