The layout of the office is very clean with a modern touch. Just remember that the office is street level so parking street side would be better off if you were like me with excruciating pain. If you park in the assigned parking lot you will have to climb the stairs and go to the right. I had excruciating pain going down my right leg so, I admitted myself into Lehigh Valley emergency room. They ran blood tests, urinalysis and CAT scan and found nothing. Nor could they infer anything (young doctor I suppose). The next day I went to go see Dr. Paul and he was extremely thorough with what the root cause was but you have to tell him everything so that he can deduce the proper procedure to recovery. I had a strained muscle in my lumbar about three weeks before and did not think that was the root problem since it only took me a day to recover. But, it turned out it was! I can't recommend enough to try to persuade anyone that this is one of the best doctors out there. I know they are hard to find so, I am definitely sticking with Dr. Paul. Give him a try even if you have a current primary care physician. I guarantee you you will not be disappointed.

He genuinely wants to help people save their own lives and live healthy as possible in todays world. I truly got lucky finding Advanced Primary Care. He needed something way more powerful. He wound up calling 911 for an ambulance to take him back to Lehigh Valley Hospital for competent treatment. NEVER EVER put a loved one in this horrible place.

Before she became ill, she liked the CM activities and trips out in a van arranged by independent living. She enjoyed religious services and her table-mates and the food. True compassion was shown by the staff who made personal visits to our family upon her passing.

I toured 4 different facilities during my search. I was impressed right away with the cleanliness and caring attitude of the staff toward the residents and family. I asked my sister-in-law who is a nurse, to come with me for a second visit. She thought Arden Courts was a good choice. The food looks and smells delicious, and portions are abundant. Mom seems to be adjusting well. The staff plans events to include friends and family members as well as residents to enjoy. The admin is compassionate and supportive. I looked at numerous communities before choosing Arden but as soon as I toured the community I knew this site was the best for Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Arden Courts is only a memory care community. Arden Courts is a bright, cheery environment all on one floor with outside gardens and paths that the residents and their families can use. The gardens are secured so no one can walk off the property when outside. The caregiver/resident ratio is better then any other community that I toured. There are activities all day long that residents can be involved in. There are also family events that bring families and residents together. Each resident is treated with respect and dignity. I recommend Arden Courts highly. Call and take a tour, you will be impressed.

He went for a month to SHSL for respite care and they were so welcoming and friendly even though he was short term care. He was welcomed back for the next 2 years with the staff remembering him. This indicates to me that SHSL is able to keep employees for long periods of employment which is a credit to them in this ever-changing service oriented business. Due to my dad's advancing age (98), it was decided in July 2018 for him to stay at SHSL as his residence which was for the next 15 months. He made new friends and never once complained about the staff. The administration is very responsive and cares about their residents. The hospice services SHSL recommended were also wonderful. I have had prior assisted living experience for my parents at a larger corporate facility in the LV which I had numerous problems with to the point where I removed my mother from the dementia unit. SHSL wins hands down in my book. They are top notch in providing seniors with a safe, friendly and welcoming place to call home. Families will see very quickly that their loved ones are well attended to should they make SHSL home for someone in their family.

There is the main Lounge with leather sofas, gas fireplace a lovely fish tank and piano. There's a library with an internet computer, a gathering room for crafts, games, community mtgs, etc. A private dining room for special occasions and the main dining room with different table arrangements and fabulous food! There are 3 floors, one of the top two has a billiard room, sofas and chairs, game tables and a TV. The other has the laundry room, leather sectional, chairs and TV. All floors have gathering groupings along the spacious hallway. There are numerous room configurations as studios and also 1 or 2 bedrooms. Some have kitchenettes but no cooking is allowed. Any can have a mini fridge. They can supply all furniture at no extra cost, bring your own or mix it up. They supply linens and basic housekeeping. I like their tiered pricing, allowing for three levels of care and assistance so you pay only for what you need. There are available religious services, many arts and crafts, weekly shopping trips or restaurant trips. The staff is amazing, from the admins, med techs, medical staff, dining staff, just everyone. My Mom LOVES it there, especially the rear patio with canopies, expensive and comfy furniture and a view of the pond with fountains, beautiful potted and planted flowers/bushes and resident geese, chipmunks, birds, etc. Finally, I love that it is a progressive care facility from minimum care up to full time, locked dementia care! I looked at many places, this is by far superior in my opinion.

You'll never see the same staff member when you return. It's a revolving door, they come and go. I've been there 18 years and saw all this first hand. He lost a lot of weight after being in the hospital and nursing home during the start of COVID. After two months, we felt that an assisted living community would be more stimulating for him and through much research, Devon House seemed like the perfect fit! They were so kind and definitely nursed him back to health over an eight month period. He improved so much that he now resides at an independent senior community where he lives in his own apartment and takes care of himself. My family and I are so grateful to Vivian and her staff for making this 89 year old independent again! Robyn Hines
